Why should we remove warn/ban? I got captured by combine and taken into their base. I then was freed by a Rebel SU unit who killed my captor and freed me. I then then try and make my way outside of the base ASAP, however some combine try and shoot me so i shoot back, i make my way outta the base and get banned by bee.
You were already brought into a sit before this because you entered and killed someone in combine base, and i specifically told you not to shoot in combine base under normal circumstances. You then, not even 5 minutes later and killed more 3 people after being released. Whilst i do understand the situation you were placed, and am going to try and get it reduced to 2 week (since it was a mistake), you should try to not go near combine base in the future (try and stick to the last point before the spawncamp point)
+1 for 2 reasons: he was banned for the wrong reason, and this is an EXTREME ban time for a new player.
This isn't mass RDM. See Rule A1 "Self-defense (killing an enemy that is actively firing at you or approaching you with cuffs out) is not RDM." According to A1C1 he was shot first, automatically ruling out RDM. This point could be made invalid if spawncamping is along the same lines as RDM, but time and time again I've always seen spawncamp warns, never flat out bans except in the case of blatant scenarios. This isn't a blatant scenario, he was not only a new player but he was SAVED BY AN SU. After looking at the rules I can't find a specific entry regarding this scenario (a rescue). Even if he read the rules he wouldn't have been able to know whether or not this is wrong. The point can be made: "he entered base earlier." Apples to oranges. They were 2 totally different situations, and Bee's verdict wasn't normal circumstances.
Again, this is a very very extreme ban for a new player. He doesn't have the context, and he doesn't have the experience to know how badly he fucked up. While I know that "sorry" isn't a valid excuse, it has been accepted and accepted recently. Going off of precedent he should be flat out unbanned (see: https://www.definitivenetworksgmod.com/f...ban-appeal). To quote Mint, "Due to you being a new player misled by circumstances you'll be unbanned, however, if the Rebel Faction as a whole fails to follow through on their anti-RDM reforms your ban will be reinstated."
Going forward, staff should make a rule dictating mercy kills only to avoid a shitshow like this happening again. I wouldn't be surprised if experienced players make this mistake in the future. Going off of precedent, he should be flat-out unbanned.
As quoted in the rules (under A1) "Firing at enemies that are within their spawncamp borders is ALWAYS spawncamping, no matter what", which would come under RDM. But i do still agree that it should be reduced. As a bit more context, this was a point where combine were pushed back to base from B, and rebels started to get into the "gray area" of spawncamping, but on the other hand rebel CO's should not encourage going past the point before the spawncamp point to prevent this from happening.
They should make a section in the rules about rescues, cause when it happens and there no rules as to what to do in that circumstance, it’s no wonder as to why people get in trouble. Or you can do what shogun said and just enforce mercy killing only, although that would be lame.

This is where the Dionysus verdict comes in. Circumstances. Instead of hitting the newbie with a 6 week ban because he was misled by circumstances, a rule should be made going forward to prevent this situation from happening again and A1C1 should be unbanned.
Edit: Also, 4 players is reallllllllly stretching it on "mass" RDM. But even then, the second point is far far stronger than the first point.

probably could've rephrased it better, but you get the point
