Why do you want to be part of the staff team: (Must be at least 3 sentences.) I want to be apart of the staff team on Definitive Network due to my love for the server. I’ve adored playing on the server for a while now. I’ve gotten to know the community very well and due to my active hours on the server, I would like to become staff on the server. On top of this, I have an innate love to help people. It’s something I take joy in along with public speaking. On servers I am staff on, I enjoy taking tickets to help people with their issues. It gives me joy to resolve an issue that someone has been having frustration with for a while. As well as enjoying helping people, I see some pile-up of tickets often. If some staff are busy resolving issues, my ticket won’t get accepted often. This can resolve in rule breakers not getting a proper punishment, and we do not want this on our network.
Why should you be accepted on the staff team: (Must be at least 3 sentences.) If I were to be accepted to the staff team, it would most likely be for my critical and multi-step thinking process. To put this in an example, let’s say that a citizen named Stephens just reported a ticket that stated: “just rdmd by another citizen named jonesly”. I accept the ticket, and bring him to a place where no one can interrupt. He explains his side of the story, stating Jonesly has just pulled out a gun and shot him. In this phase, I begin to think of why Jonesly has done this and get a general idea of what has happened from the perspective on Stephens. After this is done, I let Stephens go to roam for a small bit while I wait to hear Jonesly’s part of the story without interference from Stephens (mic spam, etc.). Jonesly explains that he is an anarchist and Stephens pulled out a gun and shot him and his kill was self defense. As an anarchist can defend themselves when shot at, I bring Stephens to me to let Stephens and Jonesly bicker as I listen for any discrepancies in their stories. Let’s say no issues with their stories next time, both are holding firm. While this is happening, I am scrolling through logs to see which story holds up. It turns out Stephens did attack Jonesly without warning first and Jonesly retaliated in self defense, killing Stephens. Stephens is given his adequate punishment and the ticket is ended. If none of these strategies work, I will call a superior to help me if I do not know what to do. As well as a multi-step thinking process, I also have good judgement and common sense as if something is not stated directly in the rules, I will deal out an equal punishment if someone finds a loophole.
Do you understand that you must change your Steam name to "[DEFN] (Username)" upon getting accepted: Yes, I do understand I will have to change my name to match the network’s tags.

An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing. What do you do: I ask the Civilian what happened and listen to his side of the story. He says he doesn’t know, or doesn’t remember the name of the Union who killed him. I check logs to see who killed him, and teleport to him. I ask him why he killed the Civilian and he says he thought it was a rebel. I give the Union a verbal warning as it seems it was an accident as the Civilian was at low health on the logs and the Union only shot two shots.
An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect". How do you proceed as a staff member: I take the H.E.C.U. to a place where we cannot be interrupted and explain to him that defecting in RP goes against the rules as it is FailRP and give him the punishment to match his offense.
You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go. How do you handle this: I take the CO to a different part of the map. I tell him he needs to notify other SU/MACE of his infiltration and notify him that he should get a +1 from another CO that allows him to leave. This is because a CO SU/MACE being able to infiltrate without anyone knowing or no cooldown could potentially be very unbalanced and a bad problem. He then threatens to demote my character in roleplay. I notify him that that goes against RP rules considering this sit in out of character for one, and two, the demotion of something in ooc is illogical and can fall under metagaming. I deal out a punishment amplified by his threat but not overly aggressive as that would be abusive.
A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it. What do you think you should do: If I were to be a lower ranking staff, I would call my superiors on to help with the issue. In the meantime when they are interrupting RP, I try to negotiate something with them to stall time while my superiors get on to help with the situation. If this does not work, I start to deal out minimal punishment as to not sway them towards DDOSing or raiding. When higher ranking staff come on, they deal with the issue accordingly.
You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed. What do you do: Although it is a higher ranking staff member, I try to look into what they are doing. If I decide it is something abusive, I take video evidence and send it to a higher up just to be safe, even if they aren’t doing anything abusive. If I decide it is not abusing their powers or completely unsure, I ask them to clarify what they are doing kindly, as to not seem disrespectful in case I am doing something wrong. If they say what they are doing is perfectly fine, I still double check it with another superior. I want to be 100% sure that what they are doing is okay.

I am sorry you feel like I am very new. I agree with you as I joined a small amount of time over a week now, but I've been playing non stop even since my application! I acknowledge that it is nothing close to some people, but I am putting in a lot of hours into the server lately, and I will continue until I get accepted into staff, even if it takes multiple applications.

I am sorry you feel like I am very new. I agree with you as I joined a small amount of time over a week now, but I've been playing non stop even since my application!
