What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
I felt like trying to do something for this server without having to suffer through hell that was being a staff, I.E i wanna make the server more fun by building fun events and never take an RDM ticket eva again. I also kinda like being a shop keep so that's a thing as well.
Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
Not really event staff but just Staff on a different dead server named Cosmic Networks but yeah. I tried to pitch event ideas to the server owner but he really didn't budge.
Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
I respond accordingly to both, I see the wrongs these people point out in me and I improve it and i tell them about this improvement and they give more feedback so I can improve myself to the best I can. But if it is just harassment with no weight to it I.E the person just wants to be a dick then I will look at what they say and determine if they are attacking me or the event I built and adapt and respond accordingly.
While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
Well i'll grab who I can and work with what I got because at the end of the day the show still runs. We could delay it by a little to buy me a little time to maybe tidy up the event and finish it.
While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
Tell Sentinel that I accidentally crashed the server with some tools I messed around with and then tell him almost exactly what I did and see if he can fix it or not then I don't repeat the things I did until it is fixed
An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
Well I whitelist the young man as he has learned what he needs to learn.
While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I adapt and the event adapts to this setback and I tell the opposite side what has happened and tell them "Hey looks like you got some extra explosive charges in the back you can blast this sealed door. Do you wanna blow it up?" Thus making the event a little more interesting.
While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I ask the guy why he dislikes the event and why he has decided to make a lot of people to not participate in the event and if it is needed i'll report it to higher ups if the guy was just being petty and had no actual reason.
After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
Well I let them host it and interject when needed.
What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
They can out of event do: ENG/GRID crafting/FOB/RND stations, Jury and MP stuff, and planting bombs for SU and Mace and some other minute stuff.
What they can do IN events: They can spawn vics, explosives, Weapons. They can also Strip weapons and give health if needed.
While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
Well I tell the CO's on both sides that "hey these vics are lagging the server." and when they undeploy some of those vics I implement a reason in event as of why they can't use all of their vics.
Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
Well first, I think of the idea, I lay out the course of the event, I plan the time, then I build it then we play it.
Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. A dead drop discovery/looting event, so a Double agent discovers a dead drop which is this huge ass weapon cache that the Combine hid to use at a later point. The Rebels and combine are made aware of this news and must formulate a plan to get this dead drop as it contains crucial info and many weapons that could feed the rebellion for many weeks. The Combine's job is to destroy this hidden cache and the Rebel's Job is to defend this cache from an onslaught of Combine. When one team wins they'll get to pick weapons from the cache and use it as they like.
2. An Informant extraction event. The Combine have recently lost a hard drive containing a blueprint to a teleporter that gives them the power to teleport more precisely. There is a Man who is an informant to the highest payer who knows the location to this drive. Both teams must get the man bac to their base to get the location to the drive and for the Rebels: to destroy it. For the Combine: to secure it. But the Rebels can decide to execute the man to keep the location of the drive forever lost. When one team wins the event they'll get a teleporter which will have 5 uses before they need to fix it with resources.
3. A power surge event. This event is where a huge ass power surge wipes out all electronics in both bases and now they need supplies to repair it. Both teams will need to go to a depo to get parts to repair their generators and resume normal operations. The team who repairs their generators first will then raid the other team's base to destroy/disable their generators. When a team wins they'll get a post event DB and 15 shells they can use whenever. they will also get a transport vic of their choosing.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
Big events = once every like 2 weeks - a month. basically desirp events Medium events = once every week Small events = every 1-3 days like shops and stuff.
Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
yes
Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
You get a multitude of commands like
!give
!hp
!armor
!kill
!bring !return
!strip
!freeze
!unfreeze !noclip
and some other misc stuff
things you can target like
@ = the person you are looking at
^ = you
* = everyone
"(name)" = a specific person

Your event ideas are nice, some may call the explanation unprofessional, I'd call it down to earth.
Formatting is nice, answers are nice too, you're an active player and you're interactive with the community.
And I'm giga fucking bias so +1
