Full Ingame Name(s) EOW A-H4X0R 09 1337 SteamID & Discord Name/Tag C0d3s #1139 STEAM_1:0:66820908 What Region are you located in? What's your timezone? UTC, Portugal. Previous Punishments? N/A. What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster? I've been a GM before, and I had a lot of fun hosting events for the playerbase. With the arrival of the new update I want to come back and host some events for the fun of the players and encourage RP. Being a past GM means I have knowledge about events and how to host them and help other GMs. Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below. No. Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment. Constructive criticism should be taken seriously, GM's require to be aware of what they did. Whether it was a fuck up or a straight up the most epic event hosted, this makes GM's improve on things they didn't took into account and fix them. I would certainly take things seriously and note down on what I did wrong, and attempt to fix what caused the event to have a bad impact on the players. Now, harassment? That's when you draw the line and ignore the person, and just let him cry in the OOC chat as you just sit and relax. You could even take the better approach and report them for actual harassment to his CO's or staff (or just do both just to knock his attitude down even further). A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action? Ask him to kindly not interrupt the event, and tell him that after the event he can PM/DM me with his criticism about the event I've hosted so I can fix what I did wrong and reason with him. If he keeps on interrupting it, you just take him into a Staff sit and punish him accordingly. A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action? Tell the RF that I'm sorry and explain him that I was AFK and couldn't help him on that moment, trying to reason with him and calm him down. If he just keeps harassing just ignore him, at that point you can't reason with him. What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events? Inside you have full permission as long as it's within your rank restrictions and you have authority over other staff who are helping you in the event. You also can punish rule breakers mid event. Outside you cannot do anything but help staff in really small cases like people being stuck in props. You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action? Reason with the CO and explain him that he could host his after mine or vice versa. Make sure you don't stop the CO's from doing their duties, simply host mine after his if the CO is that impatient. A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do? Depending what event I'd be hosting I'd either cancel it and re-schedule it or go for it and attempt to keep things in order. Bigger events I'd straight up cancel as they need more than just one person hosting them to keep things in check, if it's a smaller scale one you're good on your own. After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action? Ask them to undeploy or just wait for them to do so. Patience is key in this situation since your event relies on the server not lagging so you can make sure things run smooth. What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think) Obtain an idea for an event, either from yourself or just a suggestion from another player. Work in depth how the event could run and how many people you need. Check the current map and evaluate where and how you should run it. Test the event with some props and items you're going to use for the event in the server without causing too much issue with the gameplay or cause lag, if the event can run smooth- go for it. Else don't and re-work it. A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do? I ask the Captain to not interrupt the event and to keep his criticism for later in my DMs/PMs. If he keeps criticizing then I'll simply mute him and move on with the event. How often do you think GM's should host events? Minimum should be around once per week and maximum three, you can't either lack or overdo them. List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigns and RP Situations are EXCLUDED] Event #1: Backstory: The Resistance has managed to take hold of a old military base, within it keeps a nice sum of artillery supplies that could help in the war effort immensively and could even destroy the Combine's supply lines if close enough. Sadly, the Combine had a MACE unit capable of obtaining enough intel about the plan and are planning to counter-attack the Resistance and disable the Artillery before it fires. Event Rules: - Vehicles are deployed with the hosts discretion. - The attacking team (Combine) will be pushing all the capture points in a alphabetic order. Breaking this rule will lead for them to be punished as the host see's fit (Letting Rebels deploy a T-90/BH to give a instant win to the Resistance). - EOD's/OSS/Assassins are only deployed with the Hosts discretion. - The Resistance will have 5-10 minutes to prepare a defensive line against the Combine before the event begins. Win Conditions: Combine: Successfully destroy the artillery. Resistance: Manage to defend until the artillery barrage is sent. How it should run: Combine and Rebels are briefed about the event and it's rules in a DB that I'll try to host in a smooth way rather than just /advert it and tell them to come for a event forcefully. After briefing them I let the Resistance create defensive lines and then let the Combine deploy and keep an eye for any rules that are broken, the winning side will get rewards Event #2: Backstory: The Combine are hosting a meeting with all of it's High Command personnel, this includes an Advisor who will be listening. A resistance spy managed to obtain the information and spreads it to the chain of command, leading to a deployment of more spies to sabotage the meeting and open the door for a full Nexus Raid. Obviously, due to the fact it's a meeting that contains the High Command the base will be heavily guarded. Event Rules: - No vehicles - No leaving the spawn area if you die. (It might not need to be a rule because I could block the spawn zones for each class) - Spies are forced to RP properly if they want to succeed. Win Condition: Combine: Host the meeting without all of the High Command being killed and stopping the Resistance from taking control of the Nexus. Resistance: Kill all the High Command members in the meeting and fully control the nexus. How it should run: Get the high command into a meeting for them to discuss a related topic (RP for a while with a GM being an Advisor). Tell the Combine with a DB about the situation and warn them to patrol and guard. Get to the Resistance and tell them that the event needs to handpick several people to be spies. Explain the spies how it will go and what they should do then bring them to the base and the RP begins. If the spies manage to sabotage, the Resistance deploy to their base and a fight begins, winner receives rewards. Event #3: Backstory: A radio outpost in the City has capability of spreading propaganda and influence the Citizens of the city. Resistance and Combine alike attempt to take control over it to ensure that the Civilian population helps them against their enemy. Event Rules: - Vehicles allowed with the hosts discretion - Assassin/EOD/OSS may deploy with the host permission - Civilians are not to kill the faction they are influenced with. (This means killing resistance if the resistance holds the outpost) Win Condition: Combine: Capture the outpost and hold it for 5-10 minutes. Resistance: Capture the outpost and hold it for 5-10 minutes. How it should run: Get both sides briefed and some civilians who are willing to help in the event to be the Radio Outpost owners. Deploy both factions and watch for any rules being broken. The civilians mentioned to be the Radio Owners are influenced and must help the faction that takes control of the outpost. The faction that wins receives rewards plus, 1 life influence of all citizens in the server (this means civilians are given guns to help the winning faction) Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak staff information in gamemaster channels or otherwise. I will not abuse my powers in-game or otherwise. I must add [DEFN] to my steam username as soon as I get accepted. Yes Do you understand the basics of ULX? (If so, list basic commands below)
