Deadman's Ban Appeal

Honestly there is just a lot of people coming to deadman’s defence. My personal opinion, I don’t know who deadman is fully but have seen him active. My opinion some of his kills can be drawn as sus but people are forgetting staff like Cheeto or Hollow who have been in the position for a while have experience catching hackers. I from experience know the process and it is easy to catch them when you know what to do. So I do ask this, if it was a perma ban can we not instantly assume they are brain dead. They know what they are doing and releasing the evidence prematurely would be causing hate towards the accused and also does not give them the proper investigation they can do. Would they be able to safely determine what they did was correct if they released it early? They need it without prejudice so they are playing this perfectly fine.

Just give this time. Something like this takes time to investigate. You may assume banning someone means everything is done and investigation over. No. It takes more of a process with a case like this so again let’s just not pressure or talk shit towards the admins involved. Give them time and they will reply when done.

idk who machine gun mickey is but i like his name

the thing about res mains dying to eow was a joke

i understand why y’all don’t immediately publicly release the evidence i just think the person defending themselves should at least be given an inkling of what they’re defending against

i also love deadman

To clear up some confusion, here's the clip in question cropped to the relevant bit and slowed down a tad as the version Hollow posted runs a bit long.

The player flicks to the recon's head in 2 frames and tracks them perfectly for a fraction of a second before resuming normal mouse movement without overshooting, decelerating, or otherwise displaying any behaviour indicative of normal mouse movement.

It's brief, but it isn't human mouse movement.

I'm aware there's also some skepticism over there only being one clip, so here's another less conclusive, though still relatively solid clip showing similar behaviour (again, slowed down by a small amount for clarity).

While there's no tracking afterwards, it also shows a perfect, rapid flick directly to the target without any deceleration or correction, but despite the flick the player takes a moment to act on it, which is a bit strange considering such a quick and, most importantly, precise flick normally would be performed when firing, and not at random while manoeuvring around a part of the map without any preceding mouse movement. Is this clip definitive? No, not on its own, but it does establish the flicking in the first clip to not be a fluke or a case of lag causing spectate to act weirdly.

Thread remains locked. Additionally, I'd like to remind everyone that individual staff do not ever make rulings nor do they have any sway on the decision to ban a hacker. Permabans may only be issued with the approval of, at minimum, a head admin or above, and moderators aren't capable of simply permabanning anyone they believe to be hacking. This particular case was deliberated on extensively before a ruling was made.
