-RDM Previous Bans? I have never been banned from Cvr Why do you want to be part of the staff team? Must be at least 3 sentences. I have been in staff before I have joined a total of 2 times, once back in 2018 and again a year later in 2019. Now, the reason i'd like to join staff again is to give back to the community i have been apart of for so many years in the best way i know how, which is by keeping the server a fun and safe place for everyone to enjoy. I could deal with the simple stuff such as muting people who spam OOC to higher level threats such as harrassment or bullying. I'd like to be someone players can come up to and call a friend or simply someone they know they can rely on to help them out with anything.
But not only this. I do feel as though staff is lacking in numbers slightly. There has been instances where i have had to wait personally over 10 minutes for a staff to respond to my ticket and by that time wrongdoers just leave, name change etc and the problem is never dealt with properly making those who break the rules feel as though they can just do it again. I want to add to the staff team so i can help enforce the rules so many people do follow but the few bad apples that don't ruin it for everyone else.
All in all i just want to help out. Any staff who can vouch for you? I wouldn't say i have anystaff members who know me personally on the server or who would outright vouch for me. But i would be confident in saying that any staff member that's had to deal with me or has spoken with me in the past would have had nothing but a friendly experience. An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do? I myself have been in this situation a plethora of times and most of the time its a simple crossfire or a miss identification (Union thought the civi was a rebel) and stuff like this happens and is just part of the CvR experience all i would do is ask the UNION to watch his fire apologise to the civilian and carry on.
However in the event of a purposeful RDM it would be a straight warn with an explanation as to why they have received that warn and how best to avoid it in the future. Somebody had made a ticket saying they passed Sniper applications and that they need it’s whitelist, how would you proceed? My first question would be for them to give me the name of the CO who contacted them to let them know they have passed the forms. Once i have the name of said CO i will DM them (or ask IG if they on da server) and await conformation if they say no i will give that CO the name of the unit trying to get the WL and recommend a blacklist or a DNT for a while. However if they come back and say they did pass i will give them the WL and allow them to carry on with their day.
(I would say i'd use subdiv changes but some CO's take 400 years to post in there lmao) An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member? This very much depends on the seriousness and the level of ball ache this causes. For me personally i would just explain to the HECU that no one can "RP Defect" A. Because rebels hate combine B. Combine are brainwashed robots so i'd say that goes down the path of FailRP and would explain what the person did wrong and how to rectify the situation or what the consequences are of doing so explaining they may lose their HECU WL and if the offense is repeated a written and permanent warning on their record. A ticket alleging spawn-camp has been made, and the offending party is a member of cross who was found inside rebel spawn borders, what is the correct course of action? With CROSS scouting many new players can see that as a CROSS being within spawn borders and i feel most of the time this is the case a simple misunderstanding of the situation which can be quickly dealt with by explaining to people what the CROSS was actually doing and what to do if they see themselves in a similar situation. However, this is not to say a CROSS member wont break rules. If the cross turns the scouting mission into a more MACE styled mission such as spying or attempting to assassinate someone then yes this would be a written warning without question as CROSS have the scouting rules explained to them in enough detail upon passing their tryouts. You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this? I would simply ignore their threat to demote me as a staff sit is an OOC situation which means they would be breaking server rules to bring an OOC situation to IC, but as i was saying i would simply ignore the threat and continue with the sit as i would normally and i'd be sure to contact SU/MACE Leadership and notify them of what was said. A Grid has created a ball that he has encased himself in and is propelling himself forward using the gravity gun, is this breaking any rules? Yes, It is against the rules to build anything that wouln't make sense in the normal world for example making a cannon that fires people across the map in real life you'd die from impact therefore it's FailRP. This is not to say though that people can't make some wacky stuff as this is the half life universe which is a weird thing so exceptions could be made but as said most things you couldn't do in real life probably means ya shouldn't do it . A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do? I would instantly Ban them for a day (i would leave any perma banning to higher managment). However, i would get all the necessary information first such as Steam Names Steam ID's and the names of the characters they were playing. Once i have all this i would hand off all information to a higher member of staff who can then notify management. You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do? I would simply get a quick recording of that they were doing, then just go up to them and ask if they seem like they just got caught red handed i'd let management know. If what they was doing is actually fine i like learning new stuff so i would ask them to show me if its worth learning. Out of nowhere a random set of numbers resembling an IP has been typed by an NCO has been typed into OOC, what is the correct course of action?
Now IP's aren't my strongpoint i'll be honest as i know there is a difference between public and private IP's but the first thing i'd do is bring them to a sit and just ask them what IP that is or whos it may be if they comply and tell me i would still ban them but i would seek some form of lesser punishment. But, with that being said if it turns out to be the personal IP of a player or anyone within the community i would seek the harshest punishment as stuff like that can be incredibly damaging and scary for people.
We have come to the conclusion to deny your appeal for the reasons being albeit not new but mostly unknown player, I would like to suggest for you to get more involved with the people of the server so that we could know what kind of individual we are dealing with and hear feedback from your peers!
