STEAM_0:0:44536284 What Region are you located in? What's your timezone?
I live in Australia and (OCE), my timezone is Australian Eastern Standard Time (GMT +10). Previous Punishments?
1 warn for RDM. What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster?
I've been interested in hosting my own events for a while now, and I've spent alot of time brainstorming them. Recently I've seen alot of events that aren't what I'd neccessarily called "lore friendly" or containing that much RP, which is something I want to try my hand at. Working within the constraints of the HL2-universe would be quite the interesting challenge and I have a vested interest in doing event campaigns that link together rather than just multiple one-off events, but I still enjoy doing them. Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below.
No, but I have hosted events on CVR in the past, namely the Code Grey event campaign. Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment.
I sit down and listen to what they have to say, countering any points that they bring up if I believe them to be untrue and reflect on the criticism they have given me. If the criticism devolves into harassment I'd have to kindly ask that if they wish to give me proper direction that they do so in a respectful manner so that not only would it be easier for me to seperate the insults and genuine insight, but it'd allow them to collect their thoughts better. In any case, I'd consider the criticism given to me on my events and apply them to future events. A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action?
I'll have to first remove the CmD from the event in question, not before ensuring that the event can be overseen by another GM or staff while I'm doing so to ensure that that it retains it's normal course. I'll simply ask why the CmD felt the need to disrupt my event and what exact issues he'd have with it, afterwards I'll inform the CmD that event disruption is an offence and have them undergo the proper warn procedure by the staff team. A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action?
Simply notify them I was AFK and then answer my questions, if the severity of the harassment is high, I'll also notify the staff team. What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events?
GM's do not enforce the rules of the server outside of events and do not engage in the procedures that most staff perform. During events, GMs have full creative freedom on what happens in the event, following within the rules. You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action?
Notify them that this DB is important and thus needs to be finished before their DB may occur. If they continue to resist I will notify their COs and allow them to take whatever action they see fit, however I will not budge on the DB. A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do?
Depending on the exact role they had, if their assitance was not mandatory/necessary/vital then the event will simply proceed, however if it was absolutely vital they were there, then I would simply inform the playerbase that the event would be delayed until further notice. After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action?
I'd have to ask why they were deployed and for what purpose, I'd discuss with them if they consider the deployment vital to their team and I'd need to see if it would be appropriate for my event. If none of these conditions are fulfilled then I would simply tell them they have to undeploy their vehicles not only for the event but so that further lag doesn't occur. What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think)
First is the concept phase, brainstorming how the event will play out and the story/reason behind it.
Next phase is establishing guidelines, what are the exact rules of the event, limit on each faction, what actions can each faction do.
Consultation phase, asking staff to ensure it broke no rules, other GMs and management willing to give their input about what they believe could be changed about certain parts of the event, I'd also ask the developers if an aspect of the event would be damaging to the server. A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do?
Same with the Combine CmD, bring them into a DM or ask ingame and why they don't like the event, to list their criticism and why they are criticising it even though they aren't participating in it. Also inform them that they are interrupting important adverts for the event and could be warned with event disruption. How often do you think GM's should host events?
Depending on size, every 2 days a one off event that require little preparation nor build time. Larger events or even event campaigns should happen rarely. List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigns and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]
Supply Drop
Combine have established a supply zone where they will receive resources from a VTOL delivering them from the Citadel. The Rebels, having been notified of the incoming supply drop have begun to ramp up their forces in order to take the resources for themselves.
Combine must defend the supply zone for 5 minutes until the VTOL arrives with the supplies and then transport them back to the Nexus. However if the Resistance manages to take the supply zone, then they will capture the VTOL and the supplies if they manage to transport them back to the Rebel Base.
The Resistance has the option of shooting down the VTOL when it shows up, however doing so will result in them not being able to capture the VTOL (however they can still break it down for scrap) and will gain less resources as some were destroyed in the crash.
Either side are allowed to use any vehicle they please along as it follows server rules, however they may be undeployed if they are believed to provide too much of an advantage.
Truck Crash
A Rebel Truck carrying resources to the Rebel Base has crashed, with the driver dead and the resources scattered in the crash-site. There are 10 crates (painted green), each valuing at 250 resources, for example if the Combine only managed to capture 2 crates they will get 500 resources.
However it is to be noted that the crates can be destroyed and it'll have to be a strategic choice for faction soldiers to decide if they wish to risk crates falling into enemy hands and keep them unharmed or simply destroy it so they can't use it either.
Anarchist's with Artillery
A group of anarchists called the BombBoyz have managed to construct their own artillery piece from scrap and armed with stolen weaponry from both factions. As a result they are choosing targets regardless of faction affiliation and have been marked for death. A maximum of 6 people will be chosen as the anarchists.
First the anarchists must be located, a trail of scrap and lost munitions aswell as closely following civillian movement will reveal the location of the anarchist's artillery piece and their armory, then an assault will take place however the goals of the assault will depend on the COs of a faction.
COs will choose to either capture the artillery piece or simply destroy it. If they choose to capture the artillery piece and manage to wipe out the anarchists, it will be able to fire 5 volleys (with 4 shells per volley) before it'll eventually fall apart due to it's nature as nothing more than a makeshift artillery, each shot will have a 7 minute cooldown due to the complicated reload mechanism. This reload time can be lessened to 5 minutes, if they manage to capture a member of the anarchist group alive and successfully interrogate them.
A risk of capturing the artillery piece is that it can be also captured by an enemy faction as it is in neutral territory.
Regardless of what is done to the artillery piece, the first faction to capture the armory will recover their stolen munitions and materials, giving them 1000 resources. Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak staff information in gamemaster channels or otherwise. I will not abuse my powers in-game or otherwise. I must add [DEFN] to my steam username as soon as I get accepted.
Yes, I accept. Do you understand the basics of ULX? (If so, list basic commands below)
Yes I do.
Most commands can be done in !menu and if a command such as !jail is done without a number designating length of time (which is in seconds) then it will be indefinite.
!god !ungod !noclip (I've bound v to it) !ignite !unignite !jail !unjail !cloak !uncloak !administrate (idk if this still works, I've heard it's broken)
+1 Anarchist artillery event needs some work but the other two are good and well thought out. You have a clear passion. Hope to have someone who does RP events and i wish you luck in doing so. Players these days seem to have an extreme hate for events that require even the slightest bit of thought..
