None. What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
My main reason for applying for Gamemaster on CvR is that I notice that not a lot of GM's are on (especially during things like R&D constructions or Engineer/Grid craft-ables) and that I usually active so I think I may be able to fill that gap during points where there are no GM's on. I also love the idea of being able to make my own specialized events (if approved) to get the community to engage in CvR together. Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
No. Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
I take negative feedback mostly as a joke, however, if its constructive criticism from, lets say, a higher up (Other GM, Staff member, Lead GM, Sentinel himself, etc.) I will try to take that into account and try to slightly change my behavior so it fits better with what they are looking for. For borderline harassment I would likely report it to a staff member to try and get the situation sorted out. While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
I would Proceed with the event as I presume it was already pre-planned and pre built. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
I would report the crash to a Staff Member or somebody higher (Aithead, Sentinel, etc.) and take responsibility for my actions. (Only after taking a hot minute to soak in my embarrassment though...) An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
I am an Officer on Rebels so I would switch to my Officer Whitelist and Whitelist the Recruit. However, for combine, I would likely whitelist them for him. While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I would try to create another reason the door would need to open for the enemy to proceed that would punish those trying to ruin it. Something along the lines of... "Door control destroyed! Activating Failsafe... Door opening in T-Minus, 1 minute." The reason I would do this would be to try to discourage others from trying to ruin events later on as it would hurt the defending side, even if they have a great defense. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would talk to other GM's about it to see what they may think of it, from here, based on responses, I would most likely let it continue letting the participating side win. (It wouldn't be fair to shut down an event if some people didn't participate as it would leave the people who did disappointed) After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
I would react by politely agreeing with them and, instead of shutting down the post event DB, I would move my DB somewhere else. What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
- Ability to spawn and interact with props,
- Ability to spawn and interact with certain vehicles (usually craft-ables),
- Ability to Fly/Go into cloak,
- Grabbing people with Physics Gun (if they're stuck),
- Ability to spawn/give weapons (For Game-Master owned shops and post event DB's on the winning side.),
- Ability to take Tickers regarding crafting and/or being stuck While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I would save my event build (if I can/if I have one) and push back the event until the lag clears out. Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
1. Talk about the event idea with other GM's/higher ups (Head GM, Aithead, Sentinel, etc.)
2. (If they agree to event idea) Go into a CvR map in sandbox (the map I have an event idea for).
3. Try different types of builds that would be both interesting, but also wont get in the way of natural player gameplay.
4. Think of the 'lore'/story for it.
5. Figure out what challenges that should be in the event (Bosses, Enemies, Puzzles, etc.)
6. Run it by the GM's/higher ups one more time (with all the event things built and ready)
7. Que it up. Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. Event Name: Synthesize a Synth!
Event lore shown: The rebels came across an abandoned and untouched research facility! They plan on moving in to take over the facility to combine it with the combine tech they have in order to Synthesize their own synths! The combine must prevent this and enable the facility lockdown.
Event Details: both sides will start at their bases and will have to take over a large building (If main was still around it would have been the hospital) and break through some natural barricades and hack a Control Center (a room with a bunch of PC's and a large screen displaying "Facility Status: Disabled.") in order to access the facility defenses to repel the combine and win the event. The Combine must do the same thing however when they hack the PC room it will activate the Facility Lockdown and permanently lock down the facility so nobody can get inside which would then result in the Combine Victory. Both sides, when hacking the Control Center, will have to win a roll and then, if they win, they have to defend the facility for 6-10 minutes. The person who won the roll would have to stay in that room and survive for those 10 minutes. if the person who won the roll is killed then a new person must roll and the timer would resume. After the event each side would get different rewards. If the rebels won, they all would get a 1-life gun of their choice excluding the general restricted stuff (Cloak, Barret .50 Cal, LMG, etc.) and 20k RES. They would also get a strider that's on their side that either I, or a Tech CO, would control. If the combine won they all would get a 1-life gun of their choice excluding the general restricted stuff and 20k RES. They would also get a free strider that either I or a Kilo (with high enough clearance) would control.
2. Event name: A hiccup in space and time..
Event lore shown: Zen Aliens are teleporting to earth again and both sides have a rough time...
Event Details: The Event would have selected people (based if they want to play or not). These people would have to put a certain piece on their name so we can teleport them efficiently, They also cant be certain classes like Juggernaut, OSS, Lambda Assassin, and Combine Assassin. each person would be put onto separate teams, 1 for Rebels and 1 for combine. start in a walled off portion of the map with never ending waves of Zen including Zombies, Antlions, Guardians, and some barnacles placed in certain areas. Each team must survive to the best of their ability and whichever team left standing would win. All participants would be rewarded disregarding if they won or lost but the team who won would get better rewards. Normal rewards for both sides would include a 1 life gun for each of them while the team that wins would get 10k RES for their entire team, a gun of their choice (excluding basic restricted stuff), and 20 of any resource their chose (unless its legendary/rare).
3. Event name: Rebellion 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Event lore shown: Apparently a new annoyance has occurred, Rebels and Combine from both sides are teaming up to destroy both team bases and each team must defend their base.
Event Details: Out of a random pool of players 1/3 of rebels on the rebel team and 1/3 of the combine on the combine team are picked to become the new opposing team against both factions and it 2 Base Raids would occur. One against the rebels and one against the combine. This one time event faction would move in and try to destroy specific objects in order to win the BR, Rewards would go as followed: if Rebels and/or combine win against this enemy faction then they get 1-life guns, however, if the event faction wins ANY BR then they are allowed to play as those characters for 1-life, in which, they are returned to normal.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
Around 1-2 times a month to keep things a bit fresh. Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
I understand and accept those terms. Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
I do not know the basics of using ULX, however, I am open to be trained to use it effectively.

+1
Elksta is an overall great guy, he has a good work ethic as he's worked twice to get CO in RnD. Good events, great dude, no better fit for GM.
