What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?

Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.

Staff/Mod twice before
Organising MACE events (Planning out and working with Wolffe on MACEGear3, MBA, Sladecons, etc.)
GRID up to SqL a while ago, self proclaimed good builder and joint roller

Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.

Criticism is always something to be considered and used to improve yourself and its how anyone ever grows in life. Although harassment is harsh and conveyed impolitely, its important to look through and see if what was said had any sort of truth to it, though their words may be drugged by anger, you could definitely get an idea of what their complaints are about. It would be useful to pass on information and advice through criticism to other GMs as well.

While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?

I wouldn't be one to give people a sub-par event, as it would be worse than none at all. So, I would proceed if another GM were available who I could count on to help, but cancel should there be none and reschedule for another day.

While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?

Verify what caused the crash, if it was me, privately provide the details of what I was doing and if available recording of the last 30 seconds just before the crash.

An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?

Whitelist the recruit

While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?

Allow it to be closed if the CO can win some kind of roll, then ensure it can be broken by the enemy players, either by a /me or with their firepower. It's important that there isn't too much of an advantage gained by this action, and that players understand it's not permanently blocked.

While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?

The CO in question should not actively be disrupting the event and worse, encouraging other players to not participate- presumably against their will if EVERY player isn't attending. I'd have to inform players that it's entirely their choice to attend this event and ask the CO to provide genuine criticism instead of derailing an event because they didn't like it. If the situation isn't resolved to a degree where I'm satisfied that a conclusion benefiting us both has arrived, I report their actions to their respective DvL/Colonel.

After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?

Inform the CO that it's necessary to do the debrief and it'll only be momentary, ensuring all players receive their rewards.

What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?

In: Usually anything to do with the event (even bending some rules), within reason.
Out: Minor things such as unstucking players, hacking computers for infil classes so they can broadcast a message etc.

While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?

Given that it's a server wide event with no chance of reschedule, I would need them to undeploy. Otherwise, if it can be delayed, I would inform them not to continue deploying vehicles and wait until they get undeployed/destroyed.

Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.

1. Main idea
2. Checking the idea against a specification, e.g "How will this event be carried out?" - "How will this event be fun?" etc. Some things to look out for especially is how to balance an event when one side is at some kind of disadvantage due to a lack of players, AFK guys, etc.
3. Running through with other GMs
4. Set date if applicable
5. Execution

Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.

1. Idea 1: "Old World Blues" (lolololo)
A (Black Mesa) satellite burns up in the atmosphere, visible to all combatants as it momentarily becomes a second sun. Combine and Rebel command have determined that whatever caused the Satellite to crash was not chance, and to see the full picture of what happened, as well as retrieve valuable data they must capture the Satellite.

They may either loading it onto a truck via a crane (will take a longer amount of time, approx 20 minutes) to retrieve both the data, the black box and the Satellite, or take the data and the box separately back to their base which would allow a shorter timespan for the retrieval of both (10 mins), bar the Satellite which would fall to the enemy, resulting in a reduction of rewards/resources.
After a team has retrieved both or one of the packages, the opposing faction that lacks said item will be permitted to base raid to destroy or retrieve the items, where they have the option to take a surprise raid, where the enemy team is not told of their approach (but with one life), or one where they may continually spawn, with time being given to prepare. Event would conclude with the result of each raid, determining the rewards.

2. Idea 2: "Dead Money" (im so fucking creative)
A old casino from before the war contains a prize pool of valuable resources which could be pawned off to anarchist factions (receive credits) or given to their respective teams (receive tokens).

Games included along the way:
A "escape room" where objects must be interacted with /mes to try and find their way out.
Some kind of wheel of fortune type shit
A basketball type arcade game.
Maybe more

The winner of the event is the one who receives the most points through luck or through skill (like in the basketball game), and thus receives the 2nd greatest reward, as the greatest is reserved for the person who does not participate as they have let go successfully.

3. Idea 3: "Honest Hearts" (how much of a genius is this guy)
A gang war involving two major anarchist factions, the "Goobs" and the "Boogs" is raging and about to reach a climax. A tertiary group, the players, arrive and see an oppurtunity in riches to be earned through siding with one of the gangs. They must undertake missions (killing NPCs, and the event character leader of the opposition) and then face betrayal from the faction where they sided with, being forced into one final shootout at the end.

How often do you think GMs should host events?

I'm sure at least one event per day can be achievable, given how many GMs there are

Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.

Ya

Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.

I know every command necessary for a GM (stuff in the "fun" section, adding resources, credits, etc).
