CST Do you have a microphone? Yes Previous warns or bans? Nuh uh Why do you want to be a Gamemaster?
Because I wanna host events when I'm not doing much in staff. Also bc I wanna get creative again. Have you ever been Event Staff/Gamemaster or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions and describe something notable you did in those positions.
I've been a GM Manager on a IRP. I mainly hosted large scale events and helped others improve and do their own. Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
Actual criticism I would take. I like trying to immediately put in suggestions into my next event to see how I pan out, whether I improved or not. People who just say whatever without purpose I just ignore. While planning a server-wide event, you had another Gamemaster assisting you. Unfortunately, 5 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
First I would try to get a staff member or another Gamemaster on the server to help me with the event. If I for whatever reason can't, I'll assess if I can do the event myself without a considerable drop in quality. If I can do it myself, I'll compromise in some places and get the event going, otherwise I'll just have to push the event away and reschedule. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
Clip what I was doing and forward it. Would be better to know why the server crashed so I would be able to use the tools without killing the server next time. After the server starts though, I shouldn't use those tools again. While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I would try and at least stay as a narrator and not a controlling by adding attributes to the door. I could make the computer indestructible and give them a time limit. I would try to do a time limit by giving the other side a device that, if plugged into an emergency terminal, would start the timer for the other sides door to open. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
Save evidence and forward it up their CoC. I would also get another staff member to deal with them for disrupting the event since I would still have another side of an event to work on. While you are hosting an event, you notice that the server starts to lag dramatically. What do you do?
Start manually deleting entities first thing and then force vehicles to undeploy and be scrapped. If it was sudden then I would also ask staff to spectate and see if there's any foul play, otherwise I would just keep any entities down unless it's critical. Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is greatly appreciated.
1. OOC Event: Zombies Wave event | Each faction has a chance to survive a certain amount of waves and then escape. They can use certain props and can combat build in certain doorways. If a player in the human faction dies they stay dead. Faction that survives the longest wins. Tie is decided by which faction saved the most people. There's more mechanic to this but I like talking about more than typing.
2. IC Event: A Xen portal has opened and caused a fracture. Both sides can cooperate to close the fracture and portal for equal rewards. The fracture spawns Xen around the map. Devices can be made by certain classes using resources found around the map. Take the device to a fracture to close it. If a fracture is left active for too long another opens. Close all the fractures and then the portal to stop the Xen.
3. IC Event (Moreso lingering): A weapons manufacturing company has deployed vehicles to move through the lands. The Factions have the opportunity to take these vehicles and weapons for themselves. Players, however, have the opportunity to join the company in defending the vehicles. All vehicles will have a entry and exit point. Vehicles that reach the exit simply do and vehicles hijack can either be scrapped for resources or looted for weapons back at base. Players who contract themselves can be rewarded depending on vehicles escorted. Do you understand the basics of using ULX and how to build in gmod? Yes.
