A: Give GM the ability to pick addons that collectively can not exceed 1 or 2GB, depending on what is preferred. Which they can adjust accordingly every 3 months or 4 if it comes out better.
(which have to be approved seeing some addons could cause lag)
How would this benefit the server?
A:
(TLDR at the bottom)
Now the GM events are fun. (hate them music spammers on god tho) but they really are limited to what they are able to use relying solely on creativity,
seeing how many events have been done so far.
Yes, this might be a better matter to discuss in DM's, but that only gets you so far really, and felt like this could be a publicly discussed topic.
(I know I'm not GM but more fun events = more enjoyment)
Now imagine you would have the ability to pick a few (or even more) addons that you only would need to refresh every 3-4 months.
Which could switch up an event drastically. It isn't much asked either really (I hope lol). I doubt GMs would protest either due to the limited tools they get at their disposal to create fun events.
TLDR: GM gets to pick addons up to 1 or 2GB, which they switch every 3 or 4 months to have more tools at their disposal for better events.
What you think? what you think?
(I know you be seeing this sentinel and I know you hate new addons, especially large ones being introduced.
I beg of you to keep an open mind to make the server even more enjoyable at little expense, see this as an experiment please)
Depends on the addon, size, and implementation. If all 3 are done right this is an incredible addition to the server. Would wanna shorten rotation to about 1 month, 3 to 4 months is a lot

Just to repeat if you haven't read the thread (Which states some of your questions)
1. Size is either 1 or 2 GB
2. The addon needs to be approved
3. The length of 3-4 months is to prevent continuous changes and announcements for an updated content pack.

holy fuck that reply was fast
Yeah but the size isnt just data it's the amount of content inside it too, but i still think 3-4 months is A LOT. 1-2 would be better under almost all circumstances unless it's a massive addon.
I already do have a virtual corkboard of stuff i'd like Sentinel to add to the server, and a dedicated method for GMs to suggest addons. I'm not always actively looking for new ones, and most of the stuff I want would need to be custom-coded as the existing addons have already been looked at (Ex. a customizable terminal entity that sends chat messages when interacted with).
Having a dedicated quantity of space for addons also doesn't matter *that* much, and i'd honestly rather prefer otherwise as it's both restrictive and assistive. If there's something really useful, then i'll ask Sentinel for it, and unless there's a good reason to deny it (like the addon having a backdoor in it or it conflicting heavily with existing addons), i'll bully him until he adds it.
(Speaking of, I should remind him of The List again)
The real problem is finding stuff that's compatible with existing CvR stuff, and i'll gladly take anything offered to fit it.
