N/A What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
I am applying for gamemaster because I think I really have what it takes to create some enjoyable events for everyone in CvR to partake in. I strongly believe that combining my ideas with other GMs ideas will lead to some very interesting events for the server in the future! Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
I have never been "Event" staff however, I have been admin/staff on many different servers. Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
My reaction to someone giving me negative feedback would be me just taking it all in. I wouldn't argue as that would just make things worse. If someone were to give me constructive criticism, I would respect it and try to become better off of it. For someone who was borderline harassing me, I would just completely ignore them. While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
In this situation, the first thing I would do is check and see if I can get any other gamemasters on to help me. If none were available, then I would cancel the event and save it for another time. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
If I were to accidentally crash the server, I would contact a higher up and let them know how and what I did to accidentally crash it. An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
I would give them the whitelist myself. While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
In a situation like this I would have to think of some other ways the door could be opened. I could provide a secondary computer that can be interacted with to open the door or make it so that the door can be knocked down or blown up. If worst came to worst, I'd just ask the CO to take back his orders. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
If a CmD/MAJ decided that they disliked my event, the first solution I would have is to ask them what they dislike about it and how they would like me to go about fixing it. If this does not work, I would cancel the event depending on how many participants it has. After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
If the COs Present wanted me to stop hosting my DB for theirs, I would simply ask them if they could wait for me to finish mine first. They can't be but so eager to host a DB. What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
From what I have seen, Gamemasters have the permission to use many tool gun abilities that the regular player cannot use. They also have the ability to spawn many props that the regular player cannot. While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I would simply wait until the vehicles Un-deploy or get destroyed to start my event. If this took too long, I would kindly ask them to un-deploy. Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
Before hosting event, I would write down the process step by step of how I wanted the event to go. I would then build/test everything that needs to be a part of the event to make sure it runs smoothly. Lastly, I would play the event out with the props and everything included by myself. Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. One of the many event ideas I have cooked up while playing CvR is base raiding. Everyone says they miss when we could base raid, so I had this great idea to build a big fortress with respawns in it for a team. The opposing team would of course attack the fortress and destroy different POI's inside of it. This would hopefully bring back the good old base raiding feeling. Simple idea, but I think it would be fun.
2. For another event I think a battle royale idea would be fun. Let all the players spawn in, loot and fight until there's one left standing. Simple idea, but I personally have not seen it done before.
3. Lastly, an event that I have always thought would be fun but I'm sure will never happen unless the server pop is low. This one would be a race. Yes, a race. I would build a track and create some freakishly fast cars and let them race for the win.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
I think GM's should host events as much as possible. As long as they constantly provide a good quality event that most everyone will enjoy. Everyone loves a good event to do something new. Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
Yes, I accept the clause. Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
Yes, it's been a while since I have used it but I am sure once I see it I'll get the hang of it pretty quickly again.
