What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
I have been playing CvR for quite the time now a part of a growing community of great players, it has been my best interest to participate alongside with staff members of this amazing community and journey. My hope is to approach this position with integrity and creativity in an attempt to make CvR a more interactable space for all. Apart of other staff, I consider myself really active and on-going with duties as well as being responsible. I may have had fun in different ways, but gamemaster will surely open more opportunities for myself and to inspire others to show what it is like to have even more fun with everyone.

Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
Omni-games: Director of Recruitment - Not exactly Event Affairs, but relatively close to interactions with the userbase.

Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
Constructive criticism allows me to expand my knowledge of events and to introduce more creative opinions that defines my events even more, regardless of being positive or negative feedback. Borderline harassment is unnecessary for me and will be ignored as it does not pose any benefits for me as a thriving gamemaster, but if it continues, I will alert moderators to handle the situation.

While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
Upon absence of a gamemaster to assist with my event, I would continue with the event as it will take some time to prompt the gamemaster with the concept and restrictions of my event. I would not let down my fellow players who are anticipating an event when it is supposed to begin.

While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
As a result of experimenting and crashing the server, I would take a picture of any errors and the time frame of the incident, then consult those who are in charge of maintaining the server to check server status to see if it is running or not and restart if need be, and show evidence with the errors.

An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
If I were in the situation of being forced to whitelist a Recruit, I wouldn't give him the whitelist since it isn't my job.

While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
If I were interrupted of progressing my event, I will consult any online staff moderators to handle the situation so I may be on schedule with my event.

While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would resolve this situation by going to the other side to see if they would like to participate in my event as it only pertains to those who wish to enjoy this event.

After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
I will ask the CO to wait until I have fully concluded my event with any post-event rewards, since it is a part of my event's benefits for those who joined that expected those outcomes, then the CO may start their DB.

What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
Gamemasters have full-control over an event area, where indicated using text-signs, and they may displace anyone interfering. Outside an event, gamemasters could provide small permissions such as civilian vehicles, and hacking PC office/R&D roleplay.

While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I will cancel or post-pone the event as it is obviously causing issues for everyone, including those who are in roleplay currently.

Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
  • Check server status (Amount of Players needed, functionality of the event, and be aware of any consequences when no other staff/gm is present at the time)
  • Look for a suitable area
  • Introducing the idea of my event
  • Interpret the outcome of my event
  • Creating/establishing the event phases
  • Consolidate restrictions of my placed event
  • Generate a time that everyone will be satisfied with
Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.

1. Predator - One player will be chosen to be the Predator and to have a cloaking device, godmode, thermals, and a crowbar or shock baton. The player can use their weapon of choice to their advantage of seeking out other players within a forest and murdering them (preferably swamp area). The Predator will have until time runs out. Any remaining survivors, including the predator, from the event will be given the option to have thermals or a random weapon.

2. Grenade Dodgeball - Two teams will fight on opposite sides of a barricade and will throw grenades at each other until one team is completely dead or time limit runs out. If time limit runs out, then the team with most surviving players wins. Those who are victorious will be given the reward of grenades or RPGs.

3. The Slasher - One player will become the Slasher, he/she is tasked to kill other players without being detected in the building. All players will have the same name being "Civilian" to avoid metagaming with the kill-feed. If a Civilian finds the Slasher, they may report to an official. The Slasher will be given the USP-45 to kill others until he is identified and reported to an official within the site. Officials are given shotguns to try and eliminate the Slasher. There can only be two officials in this event, but if both are killed, then the event is over and The Slasher wins. If the slasher is killed, then everyone else but the slasher is rewarded a prize being a weapon of their choice.

How often do you think GMs should host events?
GMs should host events at least twice a week.

Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules. Additionally, I will add [DEFN] to my Steam name.

I accept these terms.

+1 (leaning more into neutral).
I have knowledge of your expierence with events, given you hosted one within MP, however some issues are prevelant within your application.
Question 5, the server crashing, is partly correct. Yes, you would contact relevant higher-ups, but you wouls also explain the situation to Sentinel and Aithead. Just a minor mistake, nothing too big.
Question 6, the whitelist, GMs are allowed to give recruit whitelist if no staff are on.
Question 7, the RP section, is the most wrong out of all of them. GM events are meant to be flexible. Restricting flexibility in an event that is meant to be a free-flowing RP event defeats the purpose. If someone was faced with this same decision in real life, chances are they would take the same approach. Thus, you have to improvise and plan for if they don't open the door.
Question 8, the CmD/Major one, is literally disrupting the flow and progression of an event. You would both call staff and make the event more fair and balanced for whatever they're complaining about. Just make sure it's fluid and makes "sense" to whatever event it is you're hosting.

For the events themselves, they're...okay? Predator is basically give some guy x weapon with a model and godmode and let him loose for x amount of time without any lore or sense to it. I would suggest either make improvements so that this event makes some sort of sense in "lore" or scrap this event all together. The Slasher is one that is alright, nothing too big of an issue. Except that all parties involved must get some sort of reward. Grenade Dodgeball is one that can get easily out of hand, as well as that the grenade is an already hard entity to catch, so if I were you I'd replace it with a soccerball or rollermine. Something simple, and you can't give RPGs as rewards.

While you application may have faults, I do believe with some work and effort into the planning and such, you can come out with some quality and good events. Think. Plan. Execute.
Best of luck.

+1 Also leaning more into a neutral. Micdon you have a good reputation and basically everything I was gonna say was covered by Kenny. The events are okay, could be way better. I personally dislike that your events have no backstory, no lore, just give someone something and let them kill. If you get into GM your gonna have to make more indepth events than this.
Best of luck man

Alright, thank you for your feedback everyone. I have seen what I must fix and appreciate kenny for the overview of everything I need to improve. And I was wondering if these type of questions regulate from a guideline or handbook for gamemaster. Hopefully, I will be able to fully envision all the criteria needed to set myself for gamemaster.
