What's your timezone? I am in the United Kingdom my timezone is BST (British summer time) Previous Punishments? None. What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster? My reason for becoming gamemaster is that i have been on many different servers on different games including Unturned and battlefield. i have been able to organise groups of players that are willing to do events and have received positive feedback on the events that i have created. I believe that this experience will help me create Original and fun events for everyone no matter if they are VIP or high ranking officer, or just a fresh union/resistance fighter. Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below. yes, i have been staff on a server on battlefield and a Co-owner of an Unturned sever. Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment. most of the time when i receive mild criticism i usually shrug it off as it is just a regular occurrence in real life and in video games. but if this usually escalates ill tell them that they are not insulting me and just making a fool of them self in front of everyone. if this were to be border line harassment in a video game i would usually block/mute the player and file a report to an administrator as they are being toxic and ruining mine and everyone elses experience. A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action? I will ask them nicely through OOC chat or in a PM to kindly stop as they are ruining the experience for the event participants. However if they are involved in the event, i will ask them what is causing the problem and if it is a mistake that i have made during its creation and then try to fix this problem. A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action? I will kindly apologise for being AFK and unable to read his PM's, i will then answer his questions about the event. but if he keeps harassing me i wont answer their question until they stop and apologise for their actions. What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events? A GM has very limited permissions outside of events as they are not allowed to alter the game in any way (e.g. setting a random unions hp to 500 for no reason). however inside of events they can modify HP/AP and give Pills/player models to participants, alongside this they can also spawn props and weapons/ammo. inside of events a GM can bring and goto participants to make setting it up/organising easier. You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action? I would let them do their DB and kindly ask all event participants to stay behind for the continuation of our Post-Event DB. A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do? I would ping them both on discord and the forums to try to see if they can get online, if not then i will announce in chat that i have to alter the event slightly and it is postponed for a short while. Then i will scale down the event/remove the parts which require two GM's, then start the event back up. After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action? I would kindly ask in chat if one of the sides with two vehicles can undeploy one of them, then i will wait until the lag dies down for a bit before continuing with my event. What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think) What i think happens is that a GM will spend a few days thinking of a good event, then they will post their idea in the GM event forums. They will then wait for other GM's to comment on the idea ( saying if it is good/bad or how they could improve it ). after they have received feedback they will either alter their event idea to improve it or be given the green light. they will then announce a time slot on a certain day that isn't taken up by other events. when it comes to that day they will check to see if they have the time and space to carry out their event, if they can then they will begin setting up their event. A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do? I would tell him to keep his criticism to himself as he isn't even taking part and is ruining the experience for others. also he is disrupting an event for literally no reason which makes it harder to communicate with participants. How often do you think GM's should host events?
i think that a GM should do an event once or twice a week on a certain day. This means that there will be at least one or two events everyday because of all of the GM's pre planning and a efficient time table List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigans and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]
EVENT 1
Rollermine foot/soccer ball
In this event i will set up a football pitch in an open area and either choose a kilo that is active at the time to be a rollermine for the event, if there is no kilo i will become the rollerminse myself. i will announce in chat that i am doing a rollermine football event, and that all of those who want to participate must change to civilian and put EVENT in their name. after 10 or so mins i will bring all the players, i will divide them into two teams ( Red and Blue and also change their shirt colour for easier identification ) . they will then add EVENT RED/BLUE to their name so I can bring them to separate sides of the pitch. i will then set all participants' HP to 125 and AP to 15 (goalkeepers get 200/200), this means that they will be able to withstand a couple of hits from the rollermine as it will have its shockers activated. The rollermine will not move on its own so they will have to run into it to cause it to bounce off of them and harm them a little, they will do this until it gets to the enemy goal, once they score i will place the rollermine back in the middle and get the teams back to starter positions. they will do a /roll for who gets the ball and then rinse and repeat for about 3-5 rounds.
EVENT 2
Trench Warfare Event
This event will take place in a flat or marshy area of the map which has been blocked off by me, i will then build two trenches quite far apart and add some bits of cover in between. I will announce the event in chat and get all of those participating to change to civ and put EVENT in their name. after about 10 mins i will bring them all to the event and brief them on what is going to happen. I will then split them into two teams British/German, and get them to put UK/Ger in their name (and give them differing playermodels. In this event there will be different classes to choose from: sniper, officer, soldier and medic. snipers get a rifle with a telescopic sight and 75/50 HP/AP (this ensures that they are not too overpowered) depending on amount of players in event there will be two to three per team. officers get a pistol and grenades with 125/125 HP/AP ( there will be 4-5 of these per team). soldiers get bolt action rifles or shotguns depending on what they want to have, with a 120/85 HP/AP ( this will be the default class so the left over players will become this) . medics get a med kit and defibrillators but no armour charger, with a 120/15 HP/AP ( this ensures that they are fairly easy to kill if not protected by their team) there will be one to three of these per team depending on player count. after all the classes are selected they will have a name layout such as this: EVENT GER Officer [NAME] this ensures that after each round i can bring people and set their differing HP/AP's. I will host around 3-5 rounds of this event and each time a different side will be attacking while the other defends. If the attacking team does not leave trench within 30 seconds (this excludes snipers) it will be grenaded.
EVENT 3
Saving Private Ryan
In this event the rebels must try to invade a small combine outpost (built by me) which holds a captured private name Ryan. I will announce the event over the chat and get people to put EVENT in their name . Ill wait 10 mins or so ,then bring them the rebels will be on one team and combine on another (I will hand out HP/AP buffs/nerfs depending on team balancing) they will add either UU or AC to their names alongside EVENT in all caps. the combine will be stationed in a small outpost out of direct line of site from the rebel starting area. there will be plenty of cover for both sides. private Ryan will be held in a sort of backroom near the rear of the outpost, He cannot be killed by the combine when captured, but as soon as the rebels have him they can kill Ryan. the task for the rebels is to then extract Ryan back to their starting point, however at this time i will begin to bring back combine to their spawn and they will start chasing down the rebels in order to kill Ryan. if Ryan is killed the combine win, but if he is extracted the Rebels win. (this will be a long event so only 1 or 2 rounds) Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak staff information in gamemaster channels or otherwise. I will not abuse my powers in-game or otherwise. I must add [DEFN] to my steam username as soon as I get accepted. Neutral. Good experience shows knowledge of ulx however the app is a bit short and the events are in my opinion quite generic. Not near enough here for me to give a proper opinion
Overall, ULX shouldn't really be much of an issue as long as you know the basics or use that website as a reference. If you have troubles with ULX you can ask for training from any of the GMs or Server Staff.
As for the events, I suggest you begin thinking about which one you will be running for your first event as it is the one that will make or break your career so I hope you put a lot of time and effort into those ideas.
Lastly, PM me over Discord once you've thought things over (don't take too long, I'd say within 3 days should be enough time) and we'll discuss further some additional things there.
