I think being GM will let me host fun activities for both sides since I will have access to ULX commands as well as more building tools and entities. I like it when GMs do events where a side objective needs to be done by either side because it helps freshen up gameplay and I want to be able to do that as well. I would also be able to spawn the dupe needed for the CROSS tryout without needing to wait for a GM to respond. Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
I used to be a GM on a server for about a year but now I no longer play on that server. It has been about 2 years since I held that position so my knowledge of ULX and stuff has gone down a bit. Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
Negative feedback will always put an ouch in my heart but I will always try to communicate with whoever is giving me feedback in order to better improve. With the case of borderline harassment I would just try to deescalate it as fast as possible and report the person harassing me to their COs or server staff depending on if it is really severe. While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
First I would make an announcement that the event will be delayed for a short while. I would then look and see if any of the other GMs online would like to help, and if they do I will tell them exactly what I needed them to help with. If there are no GMs online to help I will see if there is anything I can remove from the event to make it possible to host by myself. If none of this works I would have to reschedule the event to another time when I would have help available. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
I would take a medal clip and post it in the discord and ping server management with an explanation of what I was trying to do so they can restart the server. I would also post a formal apology in the discord for the players that were impacted by my actions. An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
I would show them how to whitelist people with the context menu so they can know how to do it themselves. If they are a CPL or don't have the whitelist I would check the division's training logs to make sure the recruit was actually trained and the trainer isn't faking their rank then I would give them the whitelist myself. While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I would make it so that the wires that the computer was plugged in with can be short circuited in order to achieve the same effect on the door. If there are HVY/BALLISTA present I would allow them to place a breaching charge on the door to destroy it. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would attempt to talk with the person to see why they disliked it and how to change the event to be more likeable. If the person is just boycotting for no reason then this would count as disruption of a server event so I would give them a warning to stop before contacting a member of staff. After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
I would ask them to wait since the post event debriefs are usually to give out factional rewards and explain what they did right and wrong. I would let them add something if they had something to say regarding the event. What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
Game masters can spawn dupes and pill people. Gamemasters can also help MP/JURY with enslavements. They also like to play music a lot.
Inside of events GMs can restrict handpicked and vehicle deployments to their liking. While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I would make a staff announcement ingame saying that an event is starting soon and asking the vehicles to scrap themselves or get destroyed in the field. If it is a training vehicle I would wait for the CO to finish up their tryout before starting the event. Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
I like to imagine events as choose-your-own adventure books so I will create a starting scenario and then come up with different outcomes based on player choices. I really like comedic events so I will spend a lot of time creating funny names for characters and how they should act. I also build dupes in singleplayer and try to see how they function before attempting to load them on the server. When I have people helping with an event I put all the details into a google doc explaining the different stages of the event as well as the models the actors will need as well as any sweps.
Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. This first one will be a campaign event. I would try to have this happen on the White Forest map. A group of vortiguants would start gathering in the cave system and chanting about an increased power of their vortessance. The rebels would get wind of this and go into the cave system to defend the vortiguants as they complete the ritual. Combine would be tasked with fighting throughout the caves in order to stop the vortiguants because the combine know that the vortiguants are about to find a huge nest of antlion grubs which they use to heal units. Whoever was to win this campaign event would get a health increase for 1 life (like a ration) as well as some bonus tickets to represent new units being ready to fight.
2. This next one would be more of a passive activity. I would have an area set up that would be designated as a excavation site. I would be in this site as a civilian working for the New World Expeditionary Force. Anyone who was interested could come to the site and do some tasks to help dig up animal bones and learn about the different animals that live on Earth. For example, someone could dig up the bones of a strider and I could tell them facts like the strider stands at 40 feet tall and has a diet of shellfish and cabbage. The participants would be paid in credits for their work in donating to a museum planned to be built in that area. I would then do a follow up event a week later where a museum has been built and players could see statues of the animals recovered during the excavation (which would probably be NPCs with the ai turned off or ragdolls whichever is less laggy)
3. This final one could be a side activity or campaign event. I would have a combine ship transporting a sectoral commander from a different sector crash land into a haunted house. The house would be dark and have a confusing layout meant to trap people inside. I would have my assistants act as ghosts and try to scare anyone inside the haunted house. Combine would have to cut their way into the ship after navigating this house in order to extract the injured Sec back to their base. Rebels would either want to kill this important combine member or kidnap them. If either side can extract the Sec to their base they will be rewarded with resources. However, if the Sec is killed by the rebels the combine overlook will enact a scorched earth policy and start shelling the area around the crashed ship. The Sec would be too scared to get into a vehicle so tech/ova couldn't be used to easily extract the Sec back to their base.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
I think GMs should try to do at least 1 event each week with a campaign event every other week. GMs should be working together to try and have the smaller scale events happen periodically throughout the day to keep things fresh and fun for the server. Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
I understand and accept Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
I know only the basics such as every command beginning with the "!" symbol as well as the following commands: bring, goto, hp, armor, cloak, and God.

Im loving what you have so far, events are decent to great!
But i just have a few questions.
You mentioned you were a GM for a previous server. Any chance you can expand apon this?
And can i see an example doc (previous or new) of how you brainstorm ideas for the queue?
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zlqD...-0DJA/edit
Here is a document I actually used for a mini event on the past server. I say used but I never got to do the event because the GOC faction was entirely wiped from the server.
And for the previous server I was a GM for about 8 months (idk if i can mention other server names) and held the position of "Senior Event Team", which was the 3rd highest rank. Unfortunately I did get removed from my position due to some mishaps with NPCs causing a head admin to think i was going rogue and banned me. To be fair I was just kinda messing with them for no reason but i did get unbanned so its not like im unwelcome on that server.
As stated previously, a solid application.
With some experience to help back it up, though slightly rough.
I believe you'd do well! And i hope to see your events and ideas come to fruition!
