What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
I have always wanted to be a part of the staff or be a GM from when I first joined because I really enjoy the server and I want to help it grow or help it in any way I can. I also want to have other people have fun on the server as well which would be hosting events and such.
Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
I have been a staff member on another server called Cosmic Networks a while back (9/3/2021). I got to admin rank which was the 3rd highest rank you were allowed to get on the server. I do have experience with hosting events and might even have some left over files to use for events. In total I was a staff member on the server for about 2 years.
Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
If it is harassment I take it and look at what they were saying towards me and see if it is correct. On the other hand if it is constructive criticism and negative feedback lets say on an event I held, I would then use that feedback to make the next event I would make better for everyone.
While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
Try and see if I could get another GM on before the event starts or try to take the best route to make the event a good event but not lose control if it by myself. If I feel like I cant do it by myself ill try to make it a smaller event to where I can control it myself or I would if worst comes to worst cancel the event.
While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
Tell someone high up about the accident I did and how I did it. Then tell the whole server that it was an "unexpected accident and that I will try my best to not get it to happen again."
An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
Switch to my rebel character to give them the WL. Simple as that.
While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I would let them destroy the panel and try to figure out another way to let the people go on with the event while letting the CO continue with their RP. This way I can continue with the event and the CO and his people can have fun with their RP. Both parties could be happy and we could then move on.
While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would ask the CmD/ MAJ as to why they don't want me to do that event or have his troops go to my event. I would then take their feedback and try to see if I should change anything in my event. If it continues I would then ask for staff to help in the situation and let the CmD/ MAJ higher up know about the situation.
After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
I would tell them that they can do their DB after mine because I want to make sure to get everyone their prizes and rewards. If they continue I would then tell them again and let staff know about the situation but if they continue for the third time I would just ignore them.
What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
Inside events: Event things (anything that has to do with the event), to have vehicles in a event area if needed, and changing players health/ shield and changing their loadouts. Outside events: Giving WL to new RCTs if needed when no staff online or anyone else to do so, MP and JURY enslavements, crafting vehicles, computer roles.
While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I would go to see if who has these vehicles and see if they are needed in the RP. If they are needed then I would ask the Tech/ OVA if they could put their vehicles away while I host an event.
Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
I would look at older events that were held and try to think of something different then that event but similar that it wont take a long time to make but also will provide a lot of fun for the people that are playing the event. I might also ask a few people on the server of what kind of events are they wanting to see on the server and take their ideas and maybe change a few things up here and there.
Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. A drop down event where people are put in a box with melee weapons, no perks, and 100 HP each. I would then start a timer and when the timer starts they would run out and it would be a free for all and to spice it up a bit more is that I would change some of the floor tiles to orange then red where people are mostly standing or camping. It would force people to move around and watch their surroundings.
2. A maze event where a few people would run around with LA rifles or just melee weapons and have the hiders at low hp. There could be defibs hiding around the area that people could find and get people back into the event possibly.
3. Maybe kind of like a maze event but instead its infection where people that are killed are revived and turned into "zombies" (different colored player model) and are running around to kill people. The last person alive wins.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
Me personally would maybe be around 3 times a week or maybe even more if there are more GMs to host them and help out.
Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
Oh definitely, rules are there for a reason and I know that if I were to be accepted that I would be given special info which I should not share. If I'm being trusted then I will do my best to keep that trust no matter what.
Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
!god, !bring, !goto, !jail (steamid), !unjail (steamid) (jail commands are what I used to use before so I don't know if y'all use them the same way), !cloak, and the funny commands !ignite and !launch.
(I used to have binds for !god, and !cloak but I don't know if I still have them)
Thx for reading this whole thing and hopefully I can get a chance to be a bigger part in the community!
