What is your suggestion?
A: Create the possibility to decrease debuffs of the weapon RAAL Lmg for Sentry Sub-Division.

How would this benefit the server?
A: The Sentry main weapon (RAAL lmg) is currently unable to be an effective weapon. The recoil kick in the beginning makes it almost impossible to aim in medium range let alone close range, the target would easily escape the line of fire in seconds or retaliate. Even after the recoil kick, the gun's Horizontal and vertical are unstable to properly aim well, Modifications can help however their debuffs outweigh the positive(aim speed, handling, spread).

I also believe this is what drives many former sentries away from the division, no matter how many sentries we co-sentries can recruit,  they would mostly convert to another division because of our Lmg. I have seen Lvets with their mg34 perform much better and get around 6 kills in one go while we can maybe go up to 2-3 as our lmg's are too unstable to control and fire effectively, even AK units can do better.

I understand our role is mostly supporting fire, but how can we support fire when we can't even aim properly in the enemy's direction?
I made a few suggestions below for you to review that would make us sentries perform our role better: (Not all are asked to be implemented together)
  • Remove Recoil kick when firing first few rounds
  • decrease Horizontal and Vertical recoil
  • Increase weight to 9
  • Increase HP
  • decrease the negatives of modifications
  • or
  • Increase the buffs of modifications

I look forward to hearing the response

i think the recoil is fine as it is now if the damage is the exact same because the damage is insanely good currently

if damage goes down then recoil goes down yep Big Grin

The SENTRY LMG is amazing imo. The recoil is the learning curve required to harness its incredibly impressive damage. If you want less recoil, then you'll need less damage, otherwise, balancing will become a serious issue.

Though I can't say what it's like (as I have yet to kill enough to upgrade it) later on down the line, from the initial experience the high recoil truly makes the gun thoroughly unenjoyable at least for me.

Personally I'd sacrifice the damage to have better recoil simply because that makes it a weapon that can be used in more types/styles of engagement with a level of effect with the potential to still excel with the right attachments in its original role with proper forethought and teamwork in its use, though as put in the post there are plenty of alternatives to this change.

Honestly I feel like a big issue with lmgs in general is it takes so long to get the bipod, which is often what actually makes it good, I feel like bipod should be its own thing and be unlocked after like 25-50 kills.

The SENTRY LMG is perfect for what it's designed to do. I wouldn't sacrifice damage, as while you would have better control, the gun itself wouldn't be as powerful as a suppression device.
You were here when the M249, arguably a mid ass gun, was around. It's essentially what the current SENTRY LMG would become if this change were to go though because the damage would CERTAINLY be shafted. This gun is a monster once you get the hang of it

At this point, I just want the recoil kick at the beginning to be removed, cant track a target when my gun jumps up then i have to control it to see where my target was again. I don't want anymore debuffs or less damage.
