Honestly its not even that there's good vehicles, there's good pilots and drivers, Im pretty bad so small mistakes are unforgiving when theres 2 or more RPGs around, and some players who are pretty cracked can do well with mostly any vehicle anytime, except the tank which needs the most work imo literally never used for a reason. But if theres only one RPG around vehicles win everytime no matter the skill level, its a weird balance that doesnt work well in low pop, maybe it would be different with lots of counter-infantry support(requires more the 40/70 online)
Tanks and APC do not take bullet damage, which I do not like. I think bullets should be able to harm all vehicles at least a little. Right now, if there is no HVY/Ballista on, there is just nothing that you can. No one should be completely helpless.
yeah sure but both the rebel apc and t62 have a turret slewing rate from the 40's so you genuinely can just walk up to it and start beating it to death with a stunstick
combine apc can shoot rockets through itself so the melee tactic simply doesnt work
good luck trying to melee a strider
Anyone who uses tanks in close combat is an idiot, they are really meant for long range support, it's what their cannons are made for, so maps like stalker, badlands, highlands and forest apoc benefit them because of long range engagements, however I do know that there are CQC maps, which is why APC's exist.
The again, APC's should keep distance from the main fight as the ability to spawn your squad is still beneficial for CO's and Kilo units, having a squad FOB that can reposition and defend itself is better than the fob entity itself
Hell it's not just the apc that can do the same, civ cars can do that too!, just without the defending itself (if you don't count running away or vehicular manslaughter as defense)
