One thing I've noticed with current deployment rules that is probably affecting people's feelings on the matter is that with the way the rules are set up there is VERY little Vehicle vs. Vehicle combat.
Thus vehicles will always have their attention on the troops and and vice versa
Back with old rules if an HC was out and dominating you'd usually have rebels deploy a T90 or attack chopper making so the vehicles have to focus on each other to help their team (similar to how battlefield works)
But with current rules whenever one side is able to deploy something that means that the opposite side is no longer able to deploy their equivalent
