N/A What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?
It has been about 2 years since I found a server I actually want to play daily on. This server has cured my boredom after school and I love the player base it has. This has caused me to want to help it. I have been game master before and I enjoyed my time. Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
Gamemaster on Gaminglight Imperial RP. (Forgot what position I was) Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
I am not that serious so when it comes to constructive criticism/borderline harassment, I just don't give a shit. While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
I would proceed to look for another gamemaster to assist me. If I cannot find a gamemaster that will assist, I would continue with the event or postpone if I really think that the event is too much. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
I would report what has happened to the Head GM or use the chain of command.
An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
If I have the ability to whitelist, I would take the ticket and whitelist (Unless there is a rule against gamemaster's whitelisting then I would get staff on). While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
I would try to improvise. Try to get engineers (If any on) to repair the computer and get the event back to its normal progression( A little more RP isn't bad) or create a situation where the computer malfunctions due to it being destroyed and causes the door to open. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would try to understand why the CmD/MAJ dislikes the event and try to work around it, however, if it gets out of hand I will try to get staff involved or report to a higher up because this is creating problems with me making events.
After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
I will kindly tell the CO to wait until my DB is over as in it will not take long. If he continues asking me to stop hosting my DB, I will just ignore him because it means I will finish DB quicker.
What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
(I'm going off what I think as in I have no clue for this server) Inside events, GMs are allowed to spawn in entities, NPCs, etc to set up their event. They can also TP, model and give weapons.
Outside of events, they can attend to the player's need. Spawning in vehicles, weapons, etc for reasons that are reasonable.
While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I ask for the vehicles to be destroyed for like credits or something in return. If not then I will postpone the event till the vehicles are gone or the server stops lagging. Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
When a retarded event idea comes to mind, I start experimenting with the idea to see if I can get something good actually going. I then get whatever I need set up and do the event. Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. Defense Event: I tp people with the event name to a location I have built on the map. The location will include props and cover. Waves of enemies will happen for a total of 20. Wave 10 being a mini-boss fight while wave 20 being the Boss Fight. At the end, whoever survives gets the choice of getting weapons or credits.
2. Rolly Polly Dodge Ball: Everyone with the event name gets TP to a dodgeball arena that I will have built. They will get stripped of weapons and will be given gravity guns. Each player will be put onto a team. Once everyone is ready, Rollermines will be spawned. Players will have to pick the mines up and throw them at the other team to kill. The team that wins get weapons or credits.
3. Antlion Nest: (Combine Event): Antlions have set up a nest inside of a building or underground (Depending on map). Combines objective is to exterminate the nest. When combines arrive, they have to fight through many antlions and antlion guards to locate and destroy the nest. What they will be using to destroy the nest is a bomb (Just a colored box). Once they have armed the bomb near the nest, they will have a minute to get out before the bomb explodes with antlions and antlion guards trying to block their escape. Finally when mission is completed, DB is to happen and that is the end of my event. (Thinking about adding a Queen as a boss fight).
How often do you think GMs should host events?
At least two times as day as in the PVP is basically one long event.
Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules.
I agree. Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know. !give ^ or player (weapon) !goto (player) !hp (player) 7124 !god ^ !noclip
Neutral
Although you have experience being a Gamemaster and the ideals that a Gamemaster should have, I haven't seen you much on the server before and your event ideas are fairly basic. I will consider changing this to a +1 if you create some more detailed event ideas.
Neutral lining to +1
I saw him on the server he is good guy
Have experience in GM
But like bateman said the event ideas is basic if u can give us more event ideas it would be cool and might change to +1
Neutral leaning very slightly -1
events are bland, The crash question only half correct, but you do have experience. I have also seen/heard stuff to suggests that you would make a decent GM
Unfortunately it took a while to properly review this application. While the application itself is only missing a few parts, there is not a lot of activity from you on the server, and you do not have much of a presence within the community.
