What Region are you located in? What's your timezone?
I live in the Western United States, my timezone is Pacific Standard.

Previous Punishments?

0 warnings according to !warns, 0 bans (to my knowledge).
Removed from TGM previously.

What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster?

I want to, not only host events as I previously had the honor of doing, but to be able to do it better. I understand my mistakes from last time, I've had half a year to think about what I did and how I messed up so badly. I don't want to come back to "make anything right", but instead to do what I originally wanted to do. I want to host events that the player base and community will enjoy. I enjoy staffing - although that is not a part of this job. I enjoy playing - that is somewhat a part of this job. I most importantly enjoy having fun - that is definitely a part of this job, a part of this job which I enjoyed last time, and the part I want to enjoy again - but doing better this time.

Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below.

Icefuse, helped create events as an admin a WHILE back.
ICE, helped create events a few months ago.
An old CWRP whose name I can't remember for the life of me.

Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment.
Well, isn't this ironic. Last time I said I took criticism well in all regards, I definitely didn't fit up to my own standards. However, I'll repeat myself as I intend to listen to what I say  from now on, and I have been doing this for.. well, a while. I like to ask people about their entire opinion regarding what they criticized - what do they personally feel should be managed better, changed, adapted? And, in the case of border line harassment I would simply contact staff and tell them to piss off, followed by a swift block on discord or an ignore in game.

A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action?
I'd let the CmD know that he was free to contact my higher up, a senior gamemaster or the head gamemaster, about a complaint about the event. I'd also let them know that any criticism could be directed to me afterwards, and that if he were to continue disrupting my event that I would ask for staff to intervene as it was now interfering with my duties. I'd obviously let his superior (the DVL) know about this when I had time afterwards or immediately.

A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action?
I'd ask him to start back where he started and I'd let him know that I was AFK. I don't really make much of a big deal about people being generally rude to be any more, especially if I can understand where they are coming from, so I would answer his questions and ask him to understand that I was AFK and was busy with something else (probably GM duties because I don't do much in my spare time).

What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events?
GMs have no duties relating to whitelists or moderation unless it is directly related to their current activities at hand. From what I remember, trusted game masters would be allowed to do SOME roleplay duties and TGMs were able to make shops and set them up in accordance to the guidelines listed in the rules. While, if a GM is in their event or an event they have been requested to take part in, they are allowed to do anything approved (when their event was approved) in the event, with the sole exception of abusive acts and administrative duties - we have staff for a reason, GMs aren't staff although they are related somewhat.

You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action?
I'd let them know that I am currently doing my duties as a (T)GM that I am required to do, and that they would not be able to do their DB until mine was finished. If they did something that was unbecoming of an officer (other than a misunderstanding which was them asking for me to stop my DB and exclude mine) I'd report them to their CmD or if they were a CmD their DVL.

A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do?
If the event were still able to be continued I'd continue, and if not I'd DM the other gamemaster to see what's up - if it's something understandable, I'd leave it at that and reschedule the event if need-be. Otherwise, if it were something unbecoming of a GM, I'd let a superior in the GM team know as this is not acceptable within the team - if you make a promise you must keep it unless something serious occurs.

After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action?
I would request the drivers of the vehicles to return to their spawns and remove them, and let them know they would be respawned after the event (because that's the right thing to do), and if they refused I would simply have them despawned as this is interrupting my event.

What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think)
GMs must first design their event - finish it, send it in the request channel in the discord and wait for it to be approved or denied. If it were approved, they must follow the event TO THE T while doing it, and if it were denied - well, take another try.

A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do?
I'd tell him to direct complaints to the Head GM or a Senior GM, and that interrupting important adverts could be punishable by staff as this is interrupting my duties, and interrupting people from playing in the event.

How often do you think GM's should host events?
As often as they are willing to, with a minimum of once a week without a LOA/ROA.

List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigans and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]

Ooh, the fun part.

The Grand Roulette

Rules
No crossteaming.
No use of inventory items, found using = removed from event immediately.
No joining mid-event.
Spectators allowed.
Combat jumping is not allowed.
You may only use items given to you at any point in the event.

Players will be selected from the participants, organized into squads of 2. All players will be stripped of their weapons and will be given a 6-shot revolver (if no revolvers I'll give them something else like a pistol). They will not be introduced to their participants. Each participant will be given instructions and a handbook as to how to proceed in identifying their partner. Each team will then be blinded and teleported into a small dungeon, with 4 corners. Each participant must then identify their teammate within 3 minutes. This is the first elimination process. If a team fails to succeed in this time, both players will be sent to the loser's bracket, the remaining team immediately passes. If a team mismatches, they will be sent to the loser's bracket. If they get this right, they will then move to the second elimination process. Both teams will duke it out from 4 corners, in random positions in a well-built arena. They will have 5 minutes to kill one another, each player will have a set amount of health. The team that survives will move on, any dead teammates of the surviving team will move on as well. If both losers are dead, they are OUT. If one is alive, the other team must have 2 people alive and the loser team moves to the loser bracket.

The second round of the winner's bracket will consist of the same squads. They will be sent into private rooms where they are given information to decipher a code. If they fail to decipher it within 5 minutes, they fail and are OUT. If they decipher it, they will then be released and will have 10 minutes to complete the tasks in the deciphered code. The tasks will range from killing a certain amount of people with a revolver, to kidnapping a specific person or stealing a vehicle. If they complete the tasks, they move on immediately.
If not, they are sent to the loser's bracket.

The third round of the winner's bracket will consist of, once again, the same squads. They will be given ample time to complete a difficult obstacle course - the catch being that team work is allowed, however this will not be mentioned as a rule or possibility. It will be up to the teams to cheat the obstacle course, and use their teammates to their advantage. If they complete the course within 10 minutes, they pass. If not, they will become a part of the final round.

Now, how about the losers?

The first round of the loser's bracket will consist of two free for alls. The first winner's squad will not participate in the next FFA, and proceed to the next round. The next winner, same process.

The second round of the loser's bracket will consist of two challenging tasks. Each squad must first locate a set object in a certain location - where is the object at exactly? It's hidden. Very well. Where is the location? They will be told this. The second task will be to... s u r v i v e. They will be attacked by hordes of zombies, as the object they touched was a magical zombie lure from the Combine invasion. They will be given heavy equipment and must survive 10 waves, each wave lasting maximum 1 minute or until all zombies are dead. They will receive no notice other than the words "Good luck, stay in this room." and being given the equipment. The team to complete this in the shortest time, or to survive, wins. If both complete it in equal time they will fight with their remaining health, armor, and gear.

The second-final round of the final bracket will be a door selection - there will be 2 doors to choose from. Both are correct, but if the team chooses to split up only one person passes on. The point of this is to introduce stress into both teams, and to encourage not splitting your team up.

The final round will, simply said, be a fight. Both teams must fight in a similar arena to the loser's bracket. This gives the losers an advantage, as they know the map and therefore have adapted to the terrain and have a speed bonus. The winners, however, have worked together for so long and therefore one person has a medkit. What is the logic behind this? I don't know, it just works.
The winner wins a reward. The loser gets a reward.

Prizes decided on-event, probably a car, gear or some cash money.

The Elite Has Arrived...

Rules:
 One vehicle per side.
Artillery not allowed (Is shot out of air by futuristic anti-artillery turret (???)
Soldiers may not leave the city.
Rebels/Combine may not defibrillate the VIP if he is killed and is on rebel/combine team.
No event soldier may be defibrillated after the VIP is killed.
Event soldiers may only use event gear.
VIP may not participate in any attack.
Building any sort of structure in the city will be halted unless the engineer/grid gets permission from a participating GM, and the building will not be used for advantages IN THE EVENT.

A mysterious craft soars through the sky, it appears to be very far away however has a purple glow which turns the sky purple. In seconds, it zooms what appears to be millions of lightyears, and zaps right up above Earth. What happens next is mysterious, but it appears as if soldiers come out with very futuristic gear, protecting what appears to be some sort of a overlord or a dictator. However, their gear far surpasses the combines, they appear to not even be closely relates to humans or robots, instead much much different. They inhabit a building.

The combine's duty is to kidnap this man, and to execute him and his guards.
The rebels decide what to do, whether to get the man for themselves or to help him. They will be able to ask for advise, and I will advise them to help the man, as he is a very powerful person.

The man will leave in 20 minutes, if he survives as result of rebel efforts to help him then the rebels will be given a gift, a gift of what appears to be piles of "futuristic" (decent) weapons. If the man is dead as result of both rebels and combines, the 5 soldiers will respawn (if dead) and will clear out F, holding it for as long as they can (Will only have 1 medkit and no defibs to prevent it lasting too long). And, if the man dies as result of solely combines, the combines will be stricken with a short barrage of space artillery. Should the man survive while under extreme attack from both, 5-7 shells will be dropped on locations near medium populations of rebels and combine. If the combine interrogates him successfully, the combine will receive "intel" and would have ended this foreign regime, therefore getting all the man's guns because this is how the logic in the situation works, and they will get some of these weapons as a reward from the combine leadership.

The soldiers will be volunteers who will compete against each other to see who is most combat efficient, this person will then be allowed to participate as a soldier. The overlord or dictator will be a GM or a good roleplayer. Both teams will be given small rewards depending on their effectivity in battle, we do not seek to kill combine as they are forced to attack somebody, but we will instead reward them after the roleplayed punishments from the overlord.

The Crack Man

Rules:
10 minute cooldown between buying.
May purchase a maximum of 3 times.
Capturing is possible, however The Crack Man can speed off at the speed of (crack * sound)
If he dies he can be revived by anybody, however chances are he won't die because he's snorted crack for so many years that his strength far surpasses anybody elses, by the power of crack.

The Crack Man, or by his real name "Crackedy Wackedy III" is a person who appears to be severely addicted to crack cocaine. He has his own laboratory where he makes and sells crack cocaine and other drugs, for hefty prices and resources. However, people who take these drugs get WIRED and HIGH immediately, and have great combat benefits (for soldiers), other benefits for specialized units and generally random things for civilians. People from both factions can buy from his assortment of illegal drugs, such as meth, xanax, crack cocaine, cocaine, bath salts, marijuana, etc. he also has other goods to make it more reasonable to purchase from him, he will be able to sell guns at higher prices in order to prevent misuse. Why does the crack man sell guns, you may ask? A good dealer has a good gat.

A roll will decide how good/bad the effects are.

I've never known you, and seeing you application it's clear the mistakes you did can be improved and that you've changed. Events are cool, even if a little mingy, and it's clear you have experience in the GM area.
Best of luck to you, Xeno.

So, the whole first part of your application looks pretty good.

Your events also look pretty good, though they have a few issuse themselves.

1. Seems like it'd be a little difficult to explain and control logistically. You'd want to either simplify the rules a little bit, or filter your participants.

2. I've got the most problems with this out of your ideas. So, it starts as a fairly reasonable VIP event, and that portion could even be expanded to include a bonus to the Combine if they interrogate him, or a short escort segment for that or if the Rebels want to rescue him.

However, that's where the problems start. Him surviving from the Rebels help and giving weapons? Ok, cool. If the Combine and Rebels shoot the guy, infinitely spawning waves of highly equipped soldier volunteers are going to attack the whole map and even the base areas? Hell no. The other thing was that if the Combine were to kill the guy they'd get nuked and then baseraided, which is a bit excessive imo, but Rebels don't have a similar effect happen to them if they kill the guy.

Baseraids as part of events are generally frowned as well, so it's probably a good idea to avoid those.

3rd one I don't have any direct objections to, just add some descriptions of what the different drugs do.

I'm not going to accept/deny this for a bit so that other GMs can comment, and you have the opportunity to edit your events to resolve any issues that I or anybody else may point out, other than the second event there really aren't many issues so I think you stand a good chance of getting accepted.

My bad on the rules and the second event, I definitely kept on typing without thinking and I'll fix those errors up. Thanks for pointing it out.

Alright, new bait! Let's see here... (I'm a GM not a TGM btw)

Application Questions:
(21 Sep 20 at 5:06am)[LFG] ronzo Wrote: Removed from TGM previously.

Why were you removed from TGM before? This is extremely relevant in a GM application. I will continue to judge the application normally, but this is sketchy.

(21 Sep 20 at 5:06am)[LFG] ronzo Wrote: A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule.

There is no official statement saying GMs must keep their promises for assisting in events. I would highly doubt that an SGM+ would punish a GM for not showing up to help out in an event, because sometimes, that GM could not make it and would prefer not to explain their reasoning. You as a event host must design your events accordingly. If you need to reschedule the event, then so be it. However, punishing assisting GMs for not showing up without good reasoning is not grounds for a punishment.

(21 Sep 20 at 5:06am)[LFG] ronzo Wrote: What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think)
GMs must first design their event - finish it, send it in the request channel in the discord and wait for it to be approved or denied. If it were approved, they must follow the event TO THE T while doing it, and if it were denied - well, take another try.

Occasionally, there are things that may happen in your event that you didn't account for. It is unrealistic that your design will cover every single possibility, especially given how long it takes to make events in general. It is totally fine if your events change from the original queue, but it is at your discretion as a GM how it changes. This does not mean all of a sudden you can introduce OSS/EOD guns into your parkour event. Use proper judgement when making changes mid event. When you log the event after it is done, you need to specify those changes along with some justification.

Events Thoughts:
I personally think your 2nd event would be the most fun, despite your 1st one being the most thought out. Your first event suffers from a lot of time for the majority of your participants doing nothing. Tournaments are fine, but unique matches for each bracket is a lot of setup time and time to explain things. You need to make it simple for yourself and your participants. The match ideas are interesting, and it would be cool to see player feedback on those. Just don't shoot yourself in the foot making it this complex.

Your 2nd event has a ton of potential. Letting COs think for themselves (maybe even denying any advise) will benefit you a ton here. If factions want to get some big rewards, they need to go after it themselves or risk having the other faction reap all the prizes for themselves. Just this and a few adverts will do the trick, allowing your event to flow very nicely. Combine this with some actual IC lore, and you'll have yourself a very nice event. Another thing though is that your volunteers should not have to compete to have a soldier spot. You most likely won't get many volunteers in the first place.
EDIT: Seems Aithead pointed out the more IC stuff that might happen. Definitely agree with him that you have to be careful about the consequences. There should still be some fairness for the factions, each to have their own opportunities. Event based Base raids are really bad though, we aren't there yet.

Good 3rd event. Nice and simple. Not totally original, but still fun and (not) family friendly.

Conclusion:
Overall, good potential here. My biggest worry is GM abuse, due to a previous removal from TGM. I would prefer you to edit your original post or reply with why you were removed from TGM in detail. Honesty and being open will help you a lot here, and everyone would appreciate it all the more.

Neutral.

My bad for not including the reason for being removed from GM team - I was generally immature, I broke rules such as TK and prop abuse, and some people reported me for being a minge and I was CK'd from Engineer and OTA, and thus Shark saw it fit to remove me from TGM.

Well seems like the OP has gotten Permanently banned. His Ban Appeal is still being reviewed (more like denied in progress lol), but for the other GMs that aren't aware, he got permabanned for hacking.
