Eastern U.S.A.

Do you have a microphone?

Yes.

Previous Warns?

Yes, a single warning from years ago.
I cannot find any information about this warning by using in-game commands.
I vaguely remember Berd overruling and reversing the warn, however that works.

Previous Bans?

None.

Why do you want to be part of the staff team? Must be at least 3 sentences.

I'm a player with some history on this server, albeit not as long-lived or as noticeable as some others that I've seen. I strive to go out of my way to be a positive influence towards others, while simultaneously guiding and nurturing those who are newer to the server so that they may enjoy the time spent here and frequently return in the near future. Ideally, should I be accepted into the staff team, I would be able to continue to help the server operate smoothly and ensure that any complications are resolved with haste.

Any staff who can vouch for you?

I'd prefer if they say it for themselves in the comments below rather than me putting words in their mouths.

An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do?

Speak privately with the Civilian first, learn what I can about their side of this situation before then privately asking the UNION to explain their side of the story as well. More often than not, Civilian deaths are negligible and accidental. If this was intentional I would tell the UNION to practice more caution in the future, verbally warning them before having to escalate things further should they continue. There's a fine line between two friends goofing off and someone intentionally being disruptive; I trust in my ability to use my discretion wisely to deescalate and resolve the situation as the need arises.

Somebody had made a ticket saying they passed Sniper applications and that they need it’s whitelist, how would you proceed?

I would go onto the Resistance Discord and check the subdivision change channel for proof, ensuring that the SteamID matches the player before giving them their whitelist. Should no such message be found, I would refuse and explain to them that until the CO has logged their change in subdivision that I cannot give them the whitelist.

An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member?

Firstly, I'd check with any online Gamemasters to ensure that this is not an event so as to not disrupt anything that they may or may not be doing. Assuming that this is not Aithaed's shenanigans, I would remove and isolate them away from the Combine base so that I may speak with them in private, explaining to them that they cannot enter enemy base borders and that RP defections are few and very, very far between for a good reason. If they were calm, understanding, and polite during this conversation, I just might recommend them to apply for a Gamemaster position and encourage their RP ideas to grow so that they may eventually help the server by being an active part of the community. However, as this is still an offense, I'd still be firm in telling them that this cannot repeat itself without consequences. I'd log this event appropriately so that other staff members may be informed of the situation should it happen once more in the future.

A ticket alleging spawn-camp has been made, and the offending party is a member of cross who was found inside rebel spawn borders, what is the correct course of action?

Immediately I'm looking for two separate things within the logs of the server: "Did this CROSS kill anyone recently?" and "Was this CROSS granted permission to scout the Rebel base?" CROSS units are allowed to be within enemy base borders, assuming that they are only there to perform a scouting mission that was granted by a NCO or higher rank. If this player has entered the enemy base without permission or reason, this is immediately an issue. However, that's only half of the problem here, as this player was also accused of killing another player within or very near enemy base borders. If this was found to be true, regardless of whether or not they were scouting, this is also an issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Isolate the CROSS, explain to them what they did wrong, warn them appropriately for the rules that they have broken, and inform their COs so that this does not become a regular occurrence for them before finally logging this event appropriately so that other staff members are also informed of what has happened here.

You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this?

Oh boy, I'd have a field-day with this one; I wish a bitch would. Nothing changes-- They still broke a rule, they still need to be held accountable. Resolve the situation while remaining as calm and collected as possible, there's no need to worry about their threats. If this is the end of it and nothing else happens, go to their CmD or Major and explain to them this incident and their unbecoming behavior so that they may internally do what is best for their subdivision. However, if they do follow through and demote your character, contest the demotion by speaking to the faction leadership and showing them as much evidence as possible that this player in a position of power is abusing that privilege. Demotions can be reversed. Promotions can be earned. But putting someone like that in their place is more than worth the hassle because it further proves your integrity as a member of staff. Don't be bribed. Don't be swayed. Do your job.

A Grid has created a ball that he has encased himself in and is propelling himself forward using the gravity gun, is this breaking any rules?

Nope! There are rules about prop vehicles, but none specifically state that what this GRID is doing in this hypothetical is breaking any of them. As long as there is only one prop vehicle for the Combine faction, it's not ridiculously overflowing with props to act as armor, and isn't being phys-gunned while out on the field, there is nothing wrong with the GRID having a little fun. As long as this thing doesn't lag the server, I say go for it!

A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do?

This is a situation I've been put in before in the past as a member of staff on a different Garry's Mod server. I believe it would be in the best interest of the server to immediately and swiftly permanently ban these players who are making threats of disrupting the server and its community. It's drastic, but it needs to be made clear that we will not play games nor tolerate such malicious behavior from anyone regardless of their reputation within the community. I'd appropriately log this situation and ensure that all other staff were made aware of what had happened here so that we may be on the lookout for alternate-accounts who may wish to continue disrupting the server amongst other things.

You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do?

No one is above the rules and everyone must be held accountable; gather screenshots and record a video if at all possible of this behavior. Always use your discretion and better judgment to determine what needs to be done immediately to resolve this situation. Chances are a high-ranking staff member wouldn't be doing something malicious to either the server or its community, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Go up the chain of command until you get a definitive answer on whether or not this behavior is acceptable so that you may know for future reference.

Out of nowhere a random set of numbers resembling an IP has been typed by an NCO has been typed into OOC, what is the correct course of action?

Well to be cut and dry, I think the best way to go about this situation currently might be just to perma-mute them and have them appeal for it to be lifted; a random set of numbers that resemble an IP could be a lot of things, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I'd rather have acted too quickly than too late when it comes to the safety and security of those I'm supposed to be protecting. Hopefully it's just a misunderstanding that will resolve itself sooner rather than later, but should it ever be clear that this was targeted harassment of another player, the removal of this problematic NCO from the community as a whole should be heavily considered. I just wish that this question wasn't so feasible.
