What is your suggestion?
A: Add additional permapropped gear rack ladders to outercanals, specifically to the following locations:
  • The exits of the connecting tunnel between C and the main map area
  • The two corners where the canals form a T-junction between A and B
  • The right side of the combine spawn exit area (next to the dumpster that can be looted for materials)
  • The exits of the small tunnel that connects C to the unused map area to the Northeast
  • A replacement for the two ladders already present near civilian spawn (they weren't positioned correctly and need to be jumped up)

How would this benefit the server?
A: There aren't enough ways to move around in outercanals, particularly for the Combine. Rebels have the option of going left, right, straight into B, or jumping into the canals right out of their spawn exit. Combine, meanwhile, are forced to only go left, into a sniper sightline covered by maybe 10 different locations (top 2 floors of B, the garage next to B, the dumpster behind B, the roof of all these locations etc...). It's impossible to avoid this as the tunnel spawn exit outlets slightly further into the same sightline and the canals are themselves a worse sniper sightline that exits into the same sightline again, slightly further ahead of the tunnel. In addition, it's impossible for the Combine to access the forest area on the North side of the canals without going all the way around past the rebel spawn exit and taking the stairs there (or using climbswep/double jumping off dumpsters with Floaty).

At various points, GRIDs or even GMs have added additional ladders (in the form of gear racks) and ramps to both the combine spawn exit and to the canals, giving significantly increased freedom of movement, opening flank routes, and helping to neuter the absolute dominance of sniper units on outercanals. In particular, with extra ladders available, jumping into the canals becomes viable for actually moving around the map (currently it's only possible to leave the canals at civilian spawn or C). However, despite the obvious gameplay benefits of additional ladders, none of these have ever been made permanent additions. If this were changed, it would make outercanals significantly more bearable, offering additional flanks and also helping to make Floaty less of a required perk for basic map navigation.

If you don't make Outer canals fully wheelchair accessible, you're ableist.

+1 though maybe not ladders, I occasionally use paratrooper, so I like ramps. (ladders break paratrooper)

Only some do. The kind you can move sided to side on while climbing are fine, but they aren't used a lot on the new maps.

+1 literally faster to be killed in the canals than it is to try and find your way out.
