I am a nice and patient person. I will always hear both sides of a story in a sit if I need to bring more than one person. I will not be prone to jumping to conclusions without solid evidence. I also have experience with being staff. I have staffed on 5 different servers previously and have actually been staff on this server before. An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do? Bring the MPF and civilian, and hear the story from both of their perspectives. If they match up, and the civi got killed for no reason and the kill was intentional, I will issue a warn to the MPF. If it matches up, but the civi says they don't care about it that much, I will issue a verbal warning to the MPF, and if it happens again, I will give a warn. If it turns out that the MPF's actions were justified or that it was genuinely crossfire, I'll explain this to the civi and then return the two to each others respective businesses.
Somebody has made a ticket saying they passed Sniper applications and that they need it's whitelist. How would you proceed? I would take into account the fact that it is the alleged app passer that is contacting staff about the whitelist instead of a Sniper CO. I will then proceed to ask Sniper CO's if they are legitimate. If they are legitimate, then I will wait for the ticket maker to be trained appropriately. If they are confirmed to have already been trained, I will provide the whitelist. If they turn out to not be legitimate, I will first give a verbal warning not to do this again. If they attempt the same thing again, I will issue a warn.
An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member? [/font] I would bring the H.E.C.U Soldier and tell them that RP defecting is against the rules, and to not attempt it again or it would be a warn. If they attempted it again, I would issue said warn.
A ticket alleging spawn-camp has been made, and the offending party is a member of Cross who was found inside rebel spawn borders. What is the correct course of action? I shall first bring both parties. The alleged offender and the ticket maker. I will proceed to have them explain each others respective sides of the story. I will then ask for proof from either party. After I have heard both accounts and collected sufficient evidence, I will check chat to see if a request was made by the Cross to infiltrate and said request was accepted. If this is not the case, I will issue the appropriate punishment to the Cross. If the Cross's reasoning for being there is sound, I will explain this to the ticket maker and return both parties.
You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this?
I would first disregard the threat, and continue telling them about the fact that they broke a rule. Then, I would report them to their higher ups to deal with their threat of demoting my in-rp character for OOC reasons.
A Grid has created a ball that he has encased himself in and is propelling himself forward using the gravity gun. Is this breaking any rules?
Yes. It is breaking rules involving frozen props and the laws of physics
A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do?
I would first issue a permaban to the people that were threatening to DDOS, and then issue a kick/ban to the people raiding the server based on the severity of their actions. Threatening to DDOS is not acceptable, even if it is a joke.
You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do?
I would approach them and ask what they were doing. I would then look in the rules to see if what they were doing is alright or not. If I find that they are breaking any rules, I would contact a staff member above the rank of the offender to handle them.
Out of nowhere, a random set of numbers resembling an IP has been typed by an NCO into OOC chat. What is the correct course of action?
Investigate immediately. I will contact the NCO regarding the numbers to attempt to get them to answer to what they are. If they do not specify what they are, I will attempt to decipher whether it is in the format of an IP address or not. If it really is an IP address, I will bring the NCO into a sit and question them yet again. If they either lie or refuse to answer, I will give appropriate punishment
