I have been on and off the server for a long time and i would like to be a part of the staff team because I enjoy playing on the server greatly and want to help, even if its something small, i want people to have fun as there is alot of users on the server that i care about and enjoy speaking to. There has also been alot of situations i've come to where this assistance would be needed but is not there, (small cases of RDM, tryouts) and i'd like to fill that place and give them a helping hand or guidance. I think i have a good understanding of the rules and a positive outlook most of the time, and due to previous experience as staff on other gmod servers i have a general idea (I am aware that this server is much different than others) of what being staff is like. I am active most of the time, but this might change to a few hours due to upcoming exams. Do you understand that you must have "[DEFN]" tag in your Steam name whenever you join CvR? Yes Any staff who can vouch for you? Zyer? no clue An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do? If the civilian makes a ticket, or complains about it i would ask both sides to see the reasoning for their actions. Crossfire, mistaking two civilians/anarchists can be common, so if it seems that there is evidence that it is intentional and happens again, i would warn the union and tell them to not kill civilians randomly. An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect". How do you proceed as a staff member? Inform them that going into combine base is forbidden outside of some cases, and that RP defect is not a valid reason to go into their HQ and explain "RP defect" is something that they cannot do on this server. If they try and do it again, they would be warned for failRP You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go. How do you handle this? I would try and discourage this by telling them that they are not exempt from the rules, even if they are a CO and collect some form of evidence to forward onto a higher ranking member if the threat is not a joke and an actual threat. A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do? DDOS threats are a serious thing to consider, i would collect their steam ID's and collect evidence of them. If the threats are continuous, the duration of the ban would be as long as possible if not permanent, especially if they are new or have not been on the server for long. If they are long time users and obviously joking, i would either verbally warn them to stop talking about the subject in chat, or warn them normally. You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed. What do you do? I would ask them first, and then consult any equal ranking or higher to check if it's allowed, and apologize if it is . If it's not, i would inform someone higher than them about their actions.
