I want to try and make events that keep old players coming back to see what event will I bring next, and to show the new players of the server how much fun we have in the server!!! Along with that, I want to make the experience and atmosphere of the server more fun and welcoming! Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below.
No.
Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment.
I try to take all criticism as constructive even if it is presented in a vulgar way. The people tho say it in a vulgar tone still have an opinion that I should actively listen to and consider next time I'm in a situation like the one the person was complaining about A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action?
If they are continuing to disrupt the event where other members of the server are active participation then I should call an admin over to have them removed from the situation. Where they will most likely be warned and if necessary have them call of any offensive action they might have ordered their troops to do
A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action?
Tell him you're sorry about being AFK and can now take his questions and answer them to the best of my ability. What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events?
Outside of events, GM's are backup staff if there is no staff on and sits are starting to come in. Inside Events, GM's are allowed to block off areas that aren't in the way of the main battlefield and can punish people for not following event rules, this is obviously including the ability to spawn in weapons/health/armor/vehicles for the event and for the event reward if the event has one You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action?
I'd ask if I can quickly finish my DB, and if they needed that DB right then I'd wait untell it is over to continue the Post-event DB A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do?
If the event only required one person and I think I could handle it I would go on with it. However, if the event needed 2 GM's I'd have to postpone the event untell they got online to assist me with it After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action?
I would be forced to wait untell the vehicles are either undeployed or destroyed so that my event wouldn't disrupt the rest of the player's experience What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think)
First, I would ask for permission from a higher-up if I could do the event that I have suggested. I would then announce the event in a /advert stating where it is and to not disrupt it if it was an event that could be disrupted and would start building it up and giving the people who are more of a central part of the event the weapons/health/armor/pills/vehicles as needed. after setting that up I would then start the event and do a /advert that said where the event was and what it's about A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do?
ask him to save his comments untell after I'm done telling the server about whats going on in my event and where it is. How often do you think GM's should host events?
I think that there should be 2-3 bigger events a week and maybe small events on the days there aren't any big ones to keep players interested in coming back daily List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigans and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]
1. id pick a trusted person, myself, or another GM to be the target of a big capture the human game. The person chose to be the human flag basically would run around in the middle of the map and would have both combine and rebels attempt to capture him. he'd have to be in god mode so that he wouldn't die with all the gunfights that would be going on around him/her. they would try to have MP's and NPU's take them to there base in order to win the event prize of either a vehicle, a AR2, something along those lines
2.mad scientist. I would become a mad scientist and would set up my laboratory in a secluded section of the map and would have the first 3 people that came be apart of my science team of super headcrabs that would go around and attempt to rule the map the event would end when all the crabs are dead
3. A body modification shop. this would be a shop where you can pay credits to become something, each different thing you could become would cost various amounts depending on how annoying and or dangerous it is (e.x: headcrab body morph: 7500, crow morph: 2500,) there would obviously be more but I don't know exactly what I am allowed to turn people into just yet this would be along with health and armor boosts that you could buy as well but not if you were a morph Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak staff information in gamemaster channels or otherwise. I will not abuse my powers in-game or otherwise. I must add [DEFN] to my steam username as soon as I get accepted.
! 100% understand Do you understand the basics of ULX? (If so, list basic commands below)
You only have a couple wrong answers, and your application is formatted properly.
There are a couple points I want to make about your events though.
Event 1) Honestly, probably wouldn't be that bad. Main issues here are A) Why are the Combine and Rebels trying to get this person (assuming IC), and B) What if there are no MP/NPU online, OR said MP/NPU are terrible at their job, OR they decide that they just don't want to participate as a fairly large number of people tend to do?
Event 2) Sounds like its just an excuse for players to get a boost in power without expending much in the way of effort.
Event 3) To be honest, also probably wouldn't be that bad. It would have a very limited set of pills and other such modifications, but it'd be fun to mess around with at lower server populations.

Ancient GRID CmD, prior SU Major/GB COL.
Credit to SEVIN.
Part of a recent server raid I've observed.
Edit: Also warns for Event Disruption & Mingery, IC character was named 'Head Retard'. Another reason for denying.
