Bruh i literally got permabanned a few months for hacking just for killing an invisible mace by Fel. I had to make an appeal to actually know the specifics behind it. The proof wasnt even that great either :pensive:

Thank you for taking the time to make this complaint.

Up until the 15th, it was widely observed that things like Macros (In-Game Console or otherwise) came under the idea of using autoclickers/ other 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage over other players. - If you remember about a year ago, there was a big hoopla about people using autoclickers on DMRs, something that was stomped on quite rapidly. - Something that was one of the main precedents for that ruling.

Look at it from the perspective of the HAs involved:
Someone makes a claim on the Discord about how they have installed/prepared a command/piece of software specifically for the CvR server, they list the full details of said macro, proving they have prepared it for the server and are likely going to use it ON the server. (Exhibit A: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/7...image0.png) - Would you sit around and wait for them to start using it or would you make a move to enforce the rules that are in place before harm could be done? - Granted, it's "a harmless scrapping macro", but it's still a macro, and, at the time, was seen to be breaking the rules. - A claim that you have made one specifically for the server pretty much implies you intend to use it, unless you are in the habit of making macros and then just leaving them to it.

Whilst I'll agree that a ban might have been hasty at the most, they were enforcing a rule that, at the time, they were under the impression was completely banned. - I cannot stress enough how apologetic I am that this occured to you, but punishing staff members for enforcing rules that were (albeit poorly defined) set out over a year ago and hadn't really been expanded on since is not really feasible - And if anything is the fault of the people who were responsible for fixing the MOTD up for Fate's release, which involves me as a primary, as it was something that had slipped completely under the Radar, so to speak, as even I was under the impression that the majority of the community had gotten the message over what was and wasn't considered hacking.

I apologise for the inconvenience of this situation, and understand the frustration on how it was handled, but the best that can be done is to fix up the rule and properly define it so that this doesn't repeat itself - As it now has been defined as the following:

Only macros made purely within the GMod console are allowed. - ANY third party software useage in game is classified as "hacking", including modifying the game's files or using a third party software for the purposes of making macros.

With regards to the other people who claim to have been punished unfairly by other HAs:
Please submit a warn appeal, or send a DM to me on Discord with the relevant proof and I'll review the case.
