Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
DEFN Networks Gamemaster
Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.
For criticism from others, I would make sure to incorporate that piece of feedback into future event planning and execution. If it were harrassment, I would simply ignore them or ask them to provide better feedback.
While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
If there is another player on the server with ULX, I would attempt to make do / do better with said person's ULX rank (e.g. The event quality would be slightly less if it was a TGM ULX, the event quality would be much better with Super Admin ULX.) If there is no one else on the server with ULX of TGM above, then I would call the event off.
While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?
Firstly, I will ask Sentinel or anyone who manages the server's infrastructure and systems why the crash occurred. If it was my NPC testing, I would apologize and refrain from doing it again unless said infrastructure person gives it the go ahead. If it was not my NPC testing, I would resume the test once the server was back up.
An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
Ask a staff member on Discord for a whitelist pass, if he gives it the green light, whitelist the RCT.
While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?
Firstly, I would state that the computer is armored and cannot be damaged. Secondly, via RP, I would announce that if individuals were caught loitering near the door, rollermines and a ceiling turret would be summoned as the security systems have detected loitering. If the CO persists in staying in the area. I would summon zombies as "they have been alerted to the sound of gunfire."
While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?
I would ask a staff member to warn him for event disruption. If he continues, ask a staff member to kick the CO. Then, advert the event again and continue as normal.
After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?
Ask him to wait for me to finish my post event, and do it a bit more quicker for the sake of the CO's DB.
What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?
Inside of events, GMs can use ULX however they want for the event. Outside of events, GMs can do RP tickets and rolls for stealing vehicles. They can also test outside of events with permission from higher-ups.
While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?
I would wait for one of the vehicles to be destroyed, then begin the event.
Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.
1. Come up with an idea. (Does not have to be entirely original, can be an existing type with some extra concepts and variables)
2. Is it an event that is easily manageable with 1-2 GMs?
3. Go to other GMs for critique on the concept.
4. Queue the event
Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.
1. Big Bill Hell's Cars
A car shop located in a corner of the map will be built. I will advertise this shop with the following phrases:
"Fuck you, Baltimore! If you're dumb enough to buy a new car this weekend, you're a big enough schmuck to come to Big Bill Hell's Cars!" "Bad Deals! Cars that break down!! Thieves!!! If you think that you're gonna find a bargain at Big Bill's, you can kiss my ass!" "If you find a better deal, SHOVE IT UP YOUR UGLY ASS!! You heard us right, SHOVE IT UP YOUR UGLY ASS!!!"
Obviously, judging by these adverts, this man is not very intent on a fair deal. Now, there are three ways to get a "better deal" from this man.
1. Just killing him. - Self explanatory, kill him. (He has 1500 hitpoints and is armed with a random type of shotgun.) - You get the vehicle (a ratmobile) for free. It will be colored with the owners faction. - Problem: Every time you go with this method, another 500 HP is stacked onto his existing maximum health pool. This applies to everyone using this route.
2. Challenge grenade throw. - You are trapped into a medium sized room. Big Bill throws a grenade up into the air from the room you are in. He leaves. If you can dodge the grenade that falls into your room, and not get injured, you get a 3/4 price discount! (Default price of vehicles: 32000 credits (don't worry I wont force them to directly buy it with this price))
3. Gambling your life away. - Roll against Big Bill. If he rolls higher, you can either pay 32000 coins or get shot to death. (Bill is godded so you can't actually do anything to stop him.) - If you roll higher, you get a 4/5 price discount.
2. Crafting Material Robbery
A lone civilian is in need of urgent help. His crafting materials have been stolen. If you come up to him, he will beg you to help kill the robbers (played by other GMs, if no GMs on, use random anarchists/citizens, and change their model to corpse1.mdl) He will go to a far corner of the map, where the hideout is located. And will run away to avoid combat. Once you kill the robbers, you can go back to the civilian and have two choices:
1. Giving him his materials for 1000 credits.
2. Keep it from him, making you fight a 1000 HP boss armed with a pistol.
3. Bargain to keep the materials, but offer to pay him 1000 credits. (Materials are: 10x assortment of common materials, 5x assortment of rare materials, 3x assortment of yellow materials (idk what the rarity name is), and you also get a golden deagle on top of that.
3. Anarchist Storehouse.
In a corner of the map, a group of anarchists are gathering weapons and supplies for another raid on faction infrastructure. Their inventory consists of:
The team of 4 anarchists can split the supplies among themselves. But, as they prepare, I inform a group of faction troops of the anarchist's storehouse and allow them to attack it. Listing of each defender's inventory:
750 Hitpoints
1x Random Firearm
1x Rocket Launcher*
1x Grenade**
* May or may not have it depending on the item allocation.
** May or may not have it depending on the item allocation.
(The synergy jeep is frozen and cannot be used for this defense.)
If the faction team fails*** , then the anarchists can heal back to 500 HP(balancing), and are allowed to roam free with these supplies and the jeep.
*** Only that team and that team alone can raid the base once only.
If the faction team kills all the anarchists, they themselves can take firearms from the weapon crate and use the supplies for themselves.
How often do you think GMs should host events?
Once or twice a week.
Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak Staff or Gamemaster information, I will not abuse my powers, and I will not break the Gamemaster rules. Additionally, I will add [DEFN] to my Steam name.
Yes.
Do you understand the basics of using ULX? List what you know.
+1, with some reservations
Activity, I barely see you on at times, whether it be timezone or inactivity in general.
Pricing with BBHC, not good, tone it down just a little bit, maybe to sub 15k.
Other than those two complaints, I am in support :]
