SteamID & Discord Name/Tag: KarmaIsABitch#8213 / STEAM_0:0:36817852 What Region are you located in? What's your timezone?:
Norway, Scandinavia (UTC+2) (P:S, Norway is real, i'm telling ya bro) Previous Punishments?:
I've been Staff Blacklisted from Staff Personnel so it might be a bit important to bring up What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster?:
Previously as working as a Staff Member for the community, over to being a HA (Head-Administrator) I always had a passion on hosting events, more or less NPC events. It brings enjoyment to see what i can do and possibly create a much more fun and entertaining aspect to CvR, other than doing the usual; Shoot, Kill, Die and Repeat. Events is a way to escape from the original gamemode as i'd like to view it and bring a much more entertaining and a much more prior excitement for the playerbase, giving them the option on getting objectives and having something to do to gain a level of firepower, support or assistance in general on the field.
It also gives me the benefit of having the time and the will to do something for the playerbase for a change, and spending time on things i enjoy doing for sport & entertainment from both sides which i'm willing to spend time on, as long as i have the passion for it c: Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below.
As previously stated, i've been a Staff member in this community, most formerly known for being a Head Administrator. The list of having past experience goes way back to the old days, though i suppose the most recent positions are to be relevant in these matters Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment:I am always open for criticism, ideas and suggestions, as long as they are constructive and not borderline "You can do better" advise. Obviously, not all events are suspected to be as perfectly organized as you'd addressed it in pen and paper, so i expect most people to complain either it being more or less one sided or in general disorganized, which i can't blame people for. Criticism in my eyes are there to give me advise and the help i need to possibly resume doing events without faulting myself by doing the same mistakes, so therefore criticism are to be taken with an open mindset.
Harassment however, is something more or less familiar with "You can do better" term of speech. It brings up the point where they're either making fun of the event, attempting to point you in a negative perspective by faulting your mistakes whenever they can and borderline spreading lies or attempting to cause mischief in your events by disrupting objectives or doing whatever they can to bring you down with them, overall they are there as an obstacle by doing your job, so normally i wouldn't be too concerned about it as long as it does not swoop down to a deep level so to speak. A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action?: If a member of the playerbase is attempting to disrupt the event, i would go forth to give them a warning to either stop or much more kick them for doing such actions, if they however decide to continue whilst the warn has been given, i would bring a staff member in to place to help me deal with the situation whilst also having the time, concentrating on continuing my event which also comes back to play that any attempt of mischief is just another obstacle on ruining your event which you shouldn't be too concerned about as long as it doesn't end up in them successfully faulting your event if you can prevent it. A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action?: i mean, personally i wouldn't mind it too much to be fairly honest, harassment is common these days and normally i wouldn't be taking them to heart, however if he is continuing i suppose i would report it to a in-game staff member and have them deal with it. What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events?: Gamemasters inside events are there to coordinate the event and to complete it none the less, they are openly allowed to use their granted ulx commands in to doing their jobs by doing regularly events and finishing them, however outside events, gamemasters are to act as a normal member, this would mean that they are prohibited in to using their Ulx commands whenever they so wish unless they have been given the green light in hosting an event. You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action?: I would ask the CO to continue the DB that i originally intended to complete due to how important it is, however if the CO denies the request i suppose i cannot do anything to prevent it and accept his decision in doing so. A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do?: I would come in to contact with the rest of the Gamemasters currently available at that time and give them a heads-up if a helping hand is required and begin the preparation of the event which where behind schedule, with or without help. After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action?: I would proceed to announce the vehicles to undeploy for event purposes, however if the operator are refusing to do so, i would assume deleting the vehicles in attempting to begin the scheduled event is fine, though i would more or less enjoy in to not having to delete it otherwise, forcefully What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think): Well, a normal scheduled event would be the following; Call in an announcement about the event and give out a word IF some people are not interested in partaking, they would not be forced to be in it though proceed to call a DB on both sides, undeploying vehicles if there is any. I would then proceed to begin the preparations for the event and while finishing up the tweaks, host a DB on both sides, giving out objectives and their main goal in the event and while doing so, make sure both sides are evenly balanced so it does not turn in to a one sided event. After the information and the objectives has been given, i would normally overlook the main objectives given to both sides but most importantly, make sure no one is trying to fault in to continuing the event as it was meant to be. So long as the event takes, a winner would be announced and there from yet another DB would take place where i would be giving them a minor debrief on what went down etc. After doing so, give out if they do have any criticism, ideas or suggestions to forward post it to me and wish them a good day and give them a warm thank you for participating in my event c: A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do?: If the member is disrupting important calls to the event via chat, i would proceed to mute him or get someone with the ability to do so, to do it for me. A kick seems to be a bit too rational, seeing as you can easily prevent spamming in chat by a simply mute on a individual. How often do you think GM's should host events?: I would assume that GMs should be hosting events regularly, from 3-4 events per week, either it being an IC Event or an OOC event, so long as they keep the playerbase with entertainment and proceed to give them an option on doing something else than they normally do in a regular basis. List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigans and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]:
I mean, there is a lot of ideas i wish to proceed in to having it as an event. As i already mentioned, doing NPC events are one of the things i enjoy doing the most, so having an event based around that theme would be a good start. An outbreak or a "apocalypse" event would probably be best suited in these scenarios, having either head crab canisters being hijacked or it being disfunctioned and having contaminated areas around the map fatal points being the main objectives to clear out seems to be much more or less an event i would probably be working on in a future, though with much more of a story line, more detailing and work & effort put in to it, though these are the basics of the idea i'm working on.
Another event would be some form of a secret agency working with one side or the other as a V.I.P, some form of a VIP event; Capture the VIP or Defend the VIP, having him being in an isolated location with access to vital information which could be used by one side to another, setting up for a much more greater advantage for upcoming events followed up with the current story line would definitely be a neat aspect i'm looking forward in to working on.
And for the last event, i would more or less bring an OOC event in to place, having some form of minigames which are supposedly supported and popular among the playerbase which i have hosted before, from Dodgeball with Grenades to having a gun game event and much more typical ideas which could be used to progress in to being an event, more or less experimenting on what could be used during an event and using my creativity for a change. These are just regular concepts event ideas which i had in mind, but obviously theres more things i wish to experiment on and to bring in place in the near future if i become a GM that is Do you understand and accept the following clause: I will not leak staff information in gamemaster channels or otherwise. I will not abuse my powers in-game or otherwise. I must add [DEFN] to my steam username as soon as I get accepted: Yes, i do Do you understand the basics of ULX? (If so, list basic commands below)
-1 Says will not leak staff information but has done so in the past. While the punishment for that is usually a community ban, applicant was instead staff blacklisted.
