Durendal's Ban appeal

I don't think it's unreasonable to shoot at a dark figure in a rebel-controlled area. Now, I'm not going to say this was "SU bias", but if that was a civ you wouldn't have gotten a warn. +1, should be unbanned and warn should be reverted.

(27 Apr 20 at 11:19am)I Want To Die Wrote: Let me explain why I had to give the ban/warn. It’s not like I have a choice I have to give it because the player is wanted him to be warned/banned. I remain completely unbiased as I review the proof as he said he saw “red eyes” and that there was rebels covering the point it doesn't matter cause he was disguised as a civilian, and the SU isn’t capping a point at all. He had two previous RDM warns. Yes I don’t agree with the ban or it’s 1 week time but I am simply doing my job. We have to give out stricter punishments due to the change in the MOTD and like I said the player requested it. To top this all off I was one of the only staff in the server besides Toasty who confirmed it was in fact needing to be a 1 week ban due to his active warnings. I always warn the player if the victim wants the player to get warned I told him that he could make an in an appeal and hopefully get his time cut short and like I said I will let my higher ups look at it but this is my side of the story.

Fair point, doesn't change it that you are a SU yourself. (Not trying to be a dick here but its true right?
Then again hard to spot the difference between a civ and a rebel when a civ decides to go in to a warzone (Quote inbound from burn ''If you go in to a warzone don't be surprised you get shot'') tbf if he decided to go as a civ in a warzone and decide to go in to a dark ass area the chances of him being shot would be higher than being somewhere in the open.
(the quote was when he was PC)

Bel1ve you literally got kicked out of SU (and leaked SU comms to me lmao) and now you throw down SU bias everywhere.

+1 for an unban or at least a reduction. I pretty much main anarchist and anytime I go into an active close quarters firefight and get killed I'm not mad about it. It happens to everyone where in the heat of battle you see someone come around the corner and all you think is "bad guy, shoot boolet at bad".

-1/neutral a little target identification goes a long way man, bind the zoom key to something easily accessible and if ur ever unsure about something you see use that before capping a dude. Like just because someones in a rebel controlled area dosent mean you have the right to just blast them immediatley. There are 2 crate spawns in B and multiple shops with high traffic there so of course citizens are going to be at that point. Also the map small as hell and the B area is like 1/4 of the map and not to mention there are 2 anarchist spawns in B as well. Especially now with this whole universal tk being added back its really important to actually know what the hell u shooting at, the red eyes might be a cross chillin or something. Just what im saying is dont have a loose trigger finger, especially now and its ur fault u fucked up dude just deal with it.

I already disliked SU before that that doesn't change my opinion on a response on an appeal.

I'd like to start off this review by stating a few things:

- Immediately calling bias over a situation that doesn't go the way that you would like it to gets you nowhere. - I'd like to thank all of those on the thread and the person appealing for remaining cordial and not flipping out.

- The activity of a player on the server has very little bearing on the punishment they received, unless they're a level zero, just joined and accidentally popped someone whilst they're learning the server.

- An RDM punishment goes from a warn, to a 2 day ban + warn, to a week + warn, rather than 2 warns with nothing and then a straight up ban.

What Nekso says is correct, we have recently undergone MOTD overhauls and thus with more freedom in a lot of different areas, we are more strict on the boundaries that have been set to prevent people from abusing said freedoms. - Hooooowever, the staff member involved made a mistake, and went a little too far with it through misunderstanding, resulting in a ban for what is essentially an accident. - This misunderstanding has since been corrected upon this review becoming known to us.

The man in the building is dark and shrouded, with his buddy in the video getting shot right in front of him, there is a clear rebel presence and thus if he accidentally pops someone he thinks is an enemy (Due to them being shrouded as fuck), this should usually be written off as crossfire/an accident, because people are not infallible. - Therefore, this killing, whilst irritating for the SU, and irritating for me when it happens to me on my SU character, is not really punishable via an RDM warn. - I further encourage players to utilise shadowplay when they can to help solve these issues at a later date.

Therefore, I have made the decision to

A C C E P T

This appeal, and effective (almost) immediately, you will be unbanned from the server and your warn will be removed, apologies for inconveniences caused.
