I could start with the cliche of saying that I love to help people and make the community a better place, but although this might be true, I wanted to focus on why I specifically wish to join the Staff Team.
I've been a part of this community for a couple of years now, admittedly in an on-and-off fashion; way back at the start of 2019, I would confidently say I've seen it develop into what it is now. As of recent, Combine versus Rebels has become a daily thing for me, and I come ingame, shoot some combine, do some training of some recruits, rinse and repeat without much deviation in what I do. I want to join the staff team to experience something new, a new chapter within my time in Definitive networks. A way to give back to the server by handling new challenges and contributing more to the server than I have done previously.Combine versus rebels is addictive as, like many popular communities, it's done its job and provides people with excellent service and experience. I want to be a part of that system, a cog that keeps the server running and in the green. I know my skill set is more than suitable for the staff team, having worked in the customer service industry my entire life and the public sector with Law Enforcement. I consider myself the right candidate and would love to prove myself within the team.
Why should you be accepted on the staff team? Must be at least 3 sentences.
Admittedly, I don't tend to stray into the world of staff teams within games; however, there have been a few exceptions in the past where I've found myself thoroughly enjoying the community and wanting to give something back; instead of going over previous experience within staff communities, I would much instead focus on my skill set and what I can offer to the staff team.
At the beginning of the pandemic (That being almost two and a half years ago now) I became a project manager for my local LGBTQ+ organization, wishing that no one should face similar hardships to what I did growing up, this being a difficult task to handle awhile going through the pandemic. I have been tempted to introduce a similar system into Definitive networks, following some suggestions from some community members; that is something that I will work on later on down the line if I were to be accepted into the staff team.In terms of employment, I have previously been a Police Officer within the United Kingdom for approximately four years before retiring to seek a different career, I have dealt with people at their worst and developed a fantastic set of customer service skills that can easily be translated into this community, thinking methodically and having an open mind to things that require a lot of brainpower.
Do you understand that you must have "[DEFN]" tag in your Steam name whenever you join CvR?
I understand this; as I will become a key role model and representative of the community, it makes sense to advertise myself as such.
Any staff who can vouch for you?

An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do?
Review the ticket that's been provided to you, if any, before going head first into the incident. The goal here is to obtain as much information as possible before speaking to the individual, find out where the death took place, who was around at the time and obtain relevant logs surrounding the incident.
Ask the civilians what they were doing at the time and if they have any evidence such as footage, screenshots or anything that may be deemed helpful to me as the handling administrator.Once I feel confident in myself and have done a sufficient initial investigation, I would then speak to the MPF Union to discuss their reasoning behind the killing; and if it was in line with the server rules regarding deathmatching. (Rule A1) " killing CWU/civilians/anarchists without a good reason."Depending on the outcome, you would then handle it accordingly through means of administrative action, warnings or whatever would be deemed suitable at the time.
An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member?
I would never approach in an accusational manner in an instance like this until I have observed the bigger picture; I would message this player and ask them what they are doing and what their intentions were; following on by informing them that they should not be entering the combine base to roleplay 'defect'. If he wishes to become a combine unit, he may join the team through the appropriate process. Depending on the intentions, and the overall review of the situation, I would most likely inform their CO of the incident or handle it appropriately as an administrator.
You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this?
As a CO of their unit and not a staff member, they are not required for any direct input into the incident; unless staff deem it appropriate. In this instance, with the CO threatening to demote one of my characters to influence an administrative decision, this would be a significant abuse of power and should be reported directly to their respective leadership. This type of attitude is not appropriate for a Commanding officer.
Additionally, I would not hold my own personal biases towards incidences. If I am a part of a unit where someone may come to dislike me due to an administrative decision, I won't let that have an impact on any future judgements.
A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do?
This is unacceptable behaviour within our community, and you are to immediately administer a ban to all involved and notify a Head administrator or Sentinel in case these threats ring true. The primary reason behind such strict action in regards to these threats is that we are to take them seriously as their actions if they were to go through with it, would be detrimental to the service that Definitive networks provide and ruin the experience for the community members as they can no longer enjoy the server as it was intended.
You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do?
We are required to hold ourselves to the highest standard, which includes other staff members. Removing the 'snitch culture' has been a significant step in recent times, where people can police each other without fear of repercussions. If you don't believe something is right, then speaking out to an appropriate administrator, such as a head admin, is the most suitable action to take.
If it was found that there is no issues, happy days; If it was an issue, you have appropriately reported the incident to the correct person.
