FAT DISCLAIMER! THIS IS RELATED TO MY GM APP AS A WHOLE, IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT I SUGGEST YOU DO, THE EVENTS THERE TIE INTO THIS ONE BIG EVENT, YOU HAVE BEEN "WARNED."

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A way back home
“Resistance cell 61, this is White Forest, come in! We have information from a named Juarez that the Combine is attempting to re-open a portal. They’ve taken a dark-energy cell from City 13’s citadel core and placed it somewhere within your sector; where they’ll overload it and open up another portal. This is a warning an- *static* - something is i-i-i-intterupting o-o-o-our transmissssssion -*static, a flickering image of an advisor appears then disappears* - oh shit, it looks like we’ve been found again, get back with you-” *an explosion is heard, the radio falls silent.*

A few weeks later, a  radio transmission is once again received from white forest.

“Cell 61, White Forest coming once more to inform you that we have repelled the assault and have captured vital members of the Combine. They’ve given us info that could help you with your task. Apparently, they’ve captured and forced the Grand Ape of the Monkey clan to lure his fellow members into a trap, where they were enslaved and used to build the core overloader, or, more formally, the “Way- Back Machine.” They killed all except the Grand Ape and 4 of his elite members, we can try and free the primates, where they’ll help us to try and sabotage the machine.
“Speaking of which, one of the men we capped was one of the supervisors overseeing the GRID construction, and ascertained some of the vital blueprints used to make the device. We have a general layout of the machine, which can give us an insight into the ‘failsafe’ switch.
“Apparently, the same button that’s used to overload the core is also used to secure it in-case it overloads itself prematurely. What you have to do is hold that button down for 5 seconds, then release it, which in turn dissipates the core down to normal levels. What we can do, is use a Button Overloading Switch, or B.O.S, have an SU attach it to the said button, and have it over-dissipate the core, fizzling it out entirely.
“That’s about all we have, I’ll inform you of more, that is if we get any more information. We’ll be sending back Muertos’ DOG with the papers. White Forest out.”

As stated in the pre-cursor, the resistance will have to destroy a Combine superweapon by dissipating the core through a button. The weapon cannot be destroyed by explosives from Rebels, because they’ve replicated a sort of nano tech that identifies Rebel built rockets, that will send a signal to the weapon and activate the portal. However, the Combine can’t destroy their own weapon, either, because the tech can’t identify Combine built rockets, thus, the weapon will break away at the failing point and dissipate the core.

Both sides will start at their own bases, and will converge via APCs or TCs. It is the Combine’s job to successfully defend the core until the prep time runs out, which is 15 minutes. During that time, the rebels will have to successfully flush out the opposing forces and place a B.O.S on the button, which will successfully dissipate the core after 4 minutes. Then it will be the Combine’s job to attack and remove the switch.  Every minute, the core dissipates by 25%, and once the button is removed, will take a maximum of 3 minutes to fully recharge (1 minute per 25% lost).

OSS, EOD, LA and Assassins are prohibited, as well as heavy vehicles and most KILO vehicles, with the exception of ONLY the APC. Rebel vehicles and Combine are limited to their ground and airborne transport counterparts. GRID and Engineers are not allowed to build at the site, they are only allowed to defend as foot soldiers, and in the case of the GRIDs, remove the B.O.S.

Combine outnumbering Rebels and vice-versa are out of my control. This event will NOT be held during either side's faction mass deployment or divisional ones (i:e a SWORD mass deployment). This event will take place after all 3 previous events (Monkey Truck, Juarez, DOG) have been done. The setting of the event will be point F, as to not have either a closer or farther area from either side's base as possible.

An SU will place the device (/me places BOS) by calling me and having the button colored red. The GRID will do the same (/me removes the device) to have the device removed and the button uncolored. MACE cannot remove the button with cloak on, they can uncloak and roll against a GM to have it removed, they are allowed to be killed during this period. SU can place the button with the same guidelines as MACE, where they will roll to have it placed, in which they can be killed.

At the end of the event, different messages will appear for both sides. If the Combine wins, this will be said: “The war's over, the Combine has opened up a portal and immeasurable amounts of forces are flooding in. Rebels have lost”
If Rebels win, this will be said: “The Gman is pleased by your work against the Combine’s tyranny. He will be observing your progress out in the field. Have a good day.”

No credit or material rewards will be given, just a weapon of choice.

Accepted!
Contact an SGM for training

Uhhhh, when I meant IC event I didn't mean something to this magnitude. If you are going to end up doing this, take a specific subdivision (lets say for example NPU) and put em up against NPCs in a controlled enviroment.
