What is your suggestion?
A: In the past few weeks legion has gotten its free promo taken away, CW, respawn timer, and NCO class taken away from us. We have gotten all of this taken away from us and we have gotten nothing back except for an hp buff. Although that is nice there is virtually no reason so become a Union Legion. We are now being told we are going to be the leaders of combine but recruiting for legion has never been worse. (Although my medical issues could have gotten in the way of that a little)  There isnt a plausible reason to join legion when the other classes have a lot more to offer even if you arent a union legion.

I have been letting myself cool down before I posted anything because I wanted to gather my thoughts about the recent changes. I think I can speak for both partisan and legion when I say the day we were told these changes were coming we were PISSED. We told our concerns but I dont think we were heard out. I think we need to figuire out something for legion or just get rid of it tbh. Legions purpose is to create leaders but its hard to create leaders when u suck butt. Imagine if you were in star wars and your hear about the death troopers being badass super soldiers but then you see them and the only benefit they had was they could get shot a little more then the normal storm troopers.

"Badass leaders need a badass kit." -Six

How would this benefit the server?
A: Legion needs to create leaders but we also need the resources to put into that. Give us something to work off of so we can recruit more people and create better leaders.

Sorry to be kind of dismissive, but didn’t you just introduce a system that allows you to play on any MPF whitelist with minimal restrictions? In my opinion that’s a fair bit too much, at least it far outweighs anything I ever saw MPF Squads have.

Going to have to -1 unless that system has been pulled or something, because I genuinely believe that LEGION/Partisan have felt much too entitled to being some kind of badass shooty gun class. You don’t need a giant rocket launcher to be a leader. You aren’t intended to have super special equipment or gimmicks - that’s why subdivisions exist in the first place. LEGION/Partisan have always been about teamwork and tactics, about a group of people coming together to be greater than the sum of their parts through genuinely good squad play - At least, Sentinel has said that’s what Partisan was originally for, and I can confirm that Squads used to preach and engage in the same mindset myself.

The quote “badass leaders need a badass kit” (setting aside the self quote lmao) is really not a good one - that really only applies to a guy in a call of duty campaign. So I’ll offer one myself

I get absolutely grilled so many times by sentinel that it’s starting to rub off on me

I bet he’s still gonna swoop in and absolutely cook both of us but I tried

Also it was easier than coming up with my own quote - I’m at a party rn

I have an understanding with the leaders of legion and partisan, that we will figure out a utility for them in the near future

Also to put this into perspective for anyone outside of Legion.

Balista has LMG,HP, and Mortar
Mace have MP5, invis, climb swep
RIOT and all them have ducking 200hp SHIELDS AND LMG OR SHOTGUN
Cross have Sniper and thermal vision
Reaper has Unique weapon, 700hp, ok cw
GRID has the ability to create Fortresses, good shotgun, and goated turret
Vehicle bois have tanks and helicopters

Legion(Union) has a little hp and cw boost

Alright time to put my 2 cents in the matter
Since this looks and feels like a rant rather than a suggestion im not giving a +1 or -1 and its just straight up my opinion.

I don't believe that Partisan/Legion should be the badass, rambo "one man army" nor have that treatment in any sort of way, neither should any other division. This is a team game and in order to win, you must play as a team to win the game. And to be extra clear, this applies for EVERYONE in both factions. Partisan/Legion can fulfill their role without having an op kit which is where I say that we dont need that "badass kit" this post mentions
WITH THAT BEING SAID
I also believe that to do a job right you need the proper tools and the tools left of Partisan and Legion is not sufficient enough to properly accomplish their goal.
Allow me to explain. The main purpose of Partisan, for example, is to overwhelm and overcome enemy defenses with their superior bulk (which was higher than it was today before the rebalance update), fast respawn timer, and numbers. With the advantages of a high cw and a 5 second respawn timer we were able to do our objective just enough to capture points.
However, those advantages are now gone (or have been reduced significantly). The versatility that both Partisan/Legion had diminished greatly and, with the most recent update, so too has our 5 second respawn timer been eliminated. With these advantages gone it is self-evident as well that our numbers have also taken a hit for the worse.
But what is most worrying for me is that my own urgency for all of our advantages being taken away is not reflected by anyone outside of Partisan or Legion. If anything, it would seem the majority of the community would agree with the changes made to Partisan and Legion going as far as stating our advantages create a "long term issue." And I see in this post as well in the replies saying Partisan/Legion is entitled for wanting some type of compensation for the loss advantages that made up both divisions.
I will reiterate, I don't want op ass kits in Partisan nor Legion because their shouldn't be op kits in any division no matter which faction, but this type of attitude is not only hurting both divisions but it is causing doubt with the CO corps of both divisions causing burn out and inactivity (only making our situation worse). So to clear the air I want to address some things.
First,
(14 Dec 24 at 7:36pm)qwuossoint Wrote: LEGION/Partisan have always been about teamwork and tactics, about a group of people coming together to be greater than the sum of their parts through genuinely good squad play
Let me be clear, I agree with everything said here and do encourage it within Partisan (and I hope Legion has been encouraging it too) but this statement completely misses the point of the post Six was trying to make. You can have great team cohesion, great squadmates, and well thought out tactics. It means nothing if the experience is miserable. Miserable experiences typically don't keep people in a division so even if you have a great team one day, you dont have them the next day. You can't have teamwork without a team, you can't execute plans without anyone to execute them with you, you can't have leaders without promising prospects, you can't build nor maintain a community that has a miserable experience every time they get on the game. But this somehow flies over peoples' heads every time I hear anything related to the quote above.
Second, I fear that these divisions will never have that good experience of yesteryear since the community is adamant in the idea of "progression" within the server keeping RF/UNION weak. While I don't think new players should be too strong, I also think they shouldn't be too weak either considering that whatever happens with the new player experience also affects the experience of older players in Partisan and Legion. I also find the community's view of progression questionable. I'm sorry but you SHOULDN'T be required to join another division in order to get the good experience this server offers, and if leadership from both sides as well as manage thought otherwise, Partisan and Legion would've been gone a LONG time ago. You progress through the game by rising through the ranks, getting materials and crafting better gear as you level in the division that suits your playstyle. You shouldn't feel obligated to get the hell out of RF to join anywhere else because "thats just the new player experience."

So to the author of this post (aka Six) you're both right and wrong
Although we don't need a super op kit that can decimate any adversary in a 10 mile radius (please god no) but Partisan and Legion do need to have something to make the experience good again. And with both division collaborating with Sentinel to make a utility for both division, I believe there is still hope.

We must make changes that provide a good experience for those that come for RF and UNION and those that stay for Partisan and Legion.

And you can quote me on that.
