Why do you want to be part of the staff team? Must be at least 3 sentences.
I want to be a member of the staff team for a multitude of reasons, but foremost I must say it is because I have always enjoyed my role as a moderator and mediator when it has been given to me. I also see a need for more active personnel on the staff team, as well as ones of varying backgrounds and opinions in order to create a more capable and healthy community. While the gameplay of CvR is good and all, people stay for the community. I simply want to do more for the community which has been giving me many fun experiences over the past couple of years.

I believe that I truly have something to offer the staff team should I be made a member. Firstly I would like to cite prior experience. As of writing this application, I have a little over 2K hours on Garry's Mod. I can say in confidence that roughly half of this was spent moderating on DarkRP servers. These servers were all owned by the same people, but due to the occasional drama with the owners (it's what happens when your owner lives in a trap house), it went by a few different names (Obey DarkRP, SinisterRP, DredgeRP). While never formally a head admin or staff team leader I was always viewed with seniority and experience. Liked well by the player base as well as my peers. He is an unbiased individual but I understand if you do not trust the judgment of someone I am just randomly naming.
Secondly, I believe that members of our community could agree that I am a well humored and level-headed individual who can both take a joke but be serious when needed. These are qualities I view as important for a staff member. You have to share some attitudes with the player base in order to not alienate yourself by being too much of a rules lawyer, but realizing you must protect the integrity of the server's gameplay by enforcing rules when it detracts from others' experience. I am also a very active member of the community both in-game and in discord. More active than I would like to admit.
Do you understand that you must have "[DEFN]" tag in your Steam name whenever you join CvR?

An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do?
I would pull the civilian and the union aside (separately) and ask them for their recollection of events. Discussing with the civilian if he/she believes the offending union should be punished should they be found of any genuine violation of the rules. Between two stories and the logs, one could piece together reasonably well the events that took place. I think should the union be in the wrong that it is important you explain to him thoroughly and calmly what it is they did wrong and what they can do differently next time.
An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member?
I would pull the HECU into a sit, leaving my possible bias towards this particular unit at the door, and ask them why exactly they felt it a good idea to do this. Something like this nine times out of ten is due to a blatant disregard for rules and what the person has been told. While RP is good and all ultimately the player base feels CvR is a deathmatch server, and RP out of left field like this isn't exactly warranted. After discussing with the HECU why what they did was wrong, and warning them accordingly. I would also notify their COs to leave the rest of their punishment to them
You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this?
If a CO in that position makes these threats, I would firstly, proceed with punishing them for their offense. Baseless threats from people with IC pull should be ignored (and laughed at). I would then, with valid proof or evidence, discuss these events with their respective COs or leadership in order to deal with the issue. If anyone tried to use an IC position to deter out of character punishment for rule-breaking, they are a thorn in the community's side and should be dealt with appropriately.
A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do?
After banning anyone who directly threatened to DDOS or Raid the server, or took part in any such actions, I would notify my superiors in order for their bans to be extended for the appropriate time. This involves properly catching evidence, SteamIDs, the works. It is made clear to members of our community that even joking threats about this are not to be tolerated at all, and for people to come in and threaten what is established here deserves punishment.
You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do?
I keep OBS and MedalTV handy for things like this. I believe the first rational step would be to ask this higher ranking staff member what it is they're doing. Keeping cautious it would also likely be a good idea to contact their superiors or management (if warranted) to ensure that the situation is handled properly. Abuse on a high level can greatly damage servers if done the right way. I've seen it plenty of times. If the staff member offers a good explanation it may be a good idea to drop the issue there. However, if I'm still unsure I'd, like I said, respectfully request the insight of someone higher in rank than them.
