A lot of people wanted progression and an active trading system beyond "me kill people for credits to buy weapon"
Armour was nerfed a bit because it felt weird as hell that some classes could slap on a lot of high grade bullet resistant armour and tank way more than they should've been able to.
If you don't like crafting that's fine, there are some guns that require very few materials to craft and you can just grab those for a sidearm and keep playing normally how most people would do:
Spawn in, take the same 2 guns, and die, complain on forums over a lack of gameplay features.
Imo durability was fine, we just needed repair kits or something that were craftable so that people had to keep using materials over a period of time rather than crafting the highest tier guns and have them forever, but then again I loved Fallouts durability system too, whereas others prefer otherwise.
Pressing E or occasionally smacking a like of scrap is hardly Minecraft, not every game that has crafting is Minecraft.

But for everything to require materials? At least have the basics accessible

Dude if you want progression beyond kill=points that's totally fine, you do that with certain things that are higher quality like spetsnaz armor, which was already difficult to get unless you waited around for someone to open an armor shop. Make certain upgrades, attachments, armors, etc like that. But when even the most basic weak shit is locked behind getting materials it makes it over the top.
The weapon buying system was already screwed up because grinding for higher ranks didn't matter when certain classes couldn't use certain guns. And armor could've been fixed by restricting certain higher quality weapons/armor (not the majority like it was) to known OP classes. But the problem of people having the same 2 guns and dying then complaining about lack of features is a problem that can be solved by not choosing the same maps over and over and having everyone fight in one location. I already mentioned that to devs when I said "centralized combat is fine, but have some mixups where combat isn't as focused in one place" but that went into the trash. You want people to stop complaining about it being boring use maps that require more thought into logistics and tactics not "hurr durr rush into the city"
A durability system where you had to craft to keep up a higher quality gun might make sense. But again, when even the shittiest of items are locked behind getting materials and when you lose the armor that gave your class that extra edge it just feels like I'm back on some hl2rp server where if you want anything you have to craft materials to get materials to craft a part of an item. I played CvR for more action and action orientated RP and not worry about materials and crafting
-1 Finally we got progression, cool looking scientific guns which add to the immersion and also a crafting system that rewards the player, update is great and if you want to talk about weapon balance that's fine since it just came out but the old system was too easy, after reaching lvl 80-90 that was it, the rest was just playing for a looooooooooong time to get a new weapon at 100.
(Also nades got nerfed cuz of jihading MPs, its their fault they abused it so much.)
