What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster?
I think events are very fun and I think managing, making, and watching people enjoy events would be even more fun!
Events have kept me coming back to CvR time after time after time.
Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers? If so please list below.
I was a T-Mod on some long dead Starwars RP server (don't remember the name)
Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment.
I would take constructive criticism to heart, I would listen to it and try and continue it to see what other things they have to say and build off of that. Most harassment is a joke but if it goes too far I would ask them to stop, but if it does go way too far I will bring a staff into the situation and let them investigate the situation.
A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action?
Ask the CmD what he doesn't like about the event but if he gets to the point where he is saying stuff like "f*** you and your sh***y event", and I know its not a joke I would get a Staff to come and make sure he doesn't disturb it anymore.
A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action?
Tell him I was AFK and say I'm sorry and answer his questions. If he doesn't stop get Staff involved.
What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events?
GM's can do anything inside events to make sure they run smoothly and are fun
GM's outside of events can give Civilians and Anarchs cars and help stuck people and vehicles.
You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action?
My course of action would be to ask them to wait and if they didn't want to I would just go host Post-Event DB for the other side while they are doing their Debrief.
A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do?
I would ask other GM's if they could help and give them the plan for the event, then apologize to everyone participating in the event and start it. However if another GM doesn't show up then postpone the event until you know you can get it started in a timely manner.
After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action?
Ask 1 vehicle to undeploy and if that doesn't solve the lag then ask another, if they refuse undeploy ask the 3rd one to undeploy.
What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish. (This is what YOU think)
Pitch the idea to a Head Gamemaster or Head Admin, Once you have the approval post an announcement in the community discord, if any thing changes surrounding the event notify the community. Load up the current map in single player and start building the structure/area you have planned for the event then dupe it, get on the server around 2-1 hours before the event starts and touch up on the building. Right before the event starts do an epic event debrief giving a general description on how things are gonna go, during the event always check on the status of the objective and balance it out as needed. After the event hold a post event DB for both sides, when this is done give out any rewards/prizes won for participating. Announce the event as over and get feedback from the community.
A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do?
Ask him to stop and if he doesn't ask a staff to look back at the chat messages and confirm he is purposefully trying to interrupt your adverts, if he is get the staff to mute him until the event is over.
How often do you think GM's should host events?
I think 1 event every 2 days is a good rate because the events can give players a reason to log on everyday.
List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL) [Campaigans and RP Situations are EXCLUDED]
1. Antique Run Gunning! A gun running, cargo mission where you collect old pre-war televisions, phones, furniture, etc. They would bring it to a house for a rich antique collector and along the way combine forces and Xen wildlife try to stop them and get a hold of their precious cargo. (each player would be payed 1k by yours truly)
2. MEGA BOSS RUSH!!! This would be a boss rush where players would get simple guns and as they defeated bosses they would get better guns and the bosses would get tougher as they fought on the final boss would be someone random from the group with upgraded health, armor, and guns trying to work against the group to destroy them.
3. Slave Escape This event would be enslaved vortigaunts escaping from their combine overlords, the vorts would team up together to escape and destroy a radio station that controls all of the vortigaunt restraints in the affected area.
