Have you ever been Event Staff/Gamemaster or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions and describe something notable you did in those positions. Yes, was on two JvS servers, did cool storyline events to further people's characters. Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment. Take it and improve or start geekin. Depends on the day. While planning a server-wide event, you had another Gamemaster assisting you. Unfortunately, 5 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed? Either see if I can get another GM/staff to fill in their shoes. If not available, then either cancel the event if it 100% needs that person, or potentially scale back parts of the event to accommodate 1 GM. While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react? I cry in my chair bro, I start quivering that sentinel might ban me for crashing his server. While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react? Let them and see how the other side reacts. Possibly throw in some hints towards destroying the door now that the computer is fucked. Put a C4 shipment or something for the other side to escort to the door to get it open. Maybe an epic thermal drill from pd2. While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation? Listen to the feedback and if possible change portions of the event to better accommodate that side. If it's a balance issue, let them deploy more pushbacks for a few lives or if nothing is appeasing to them, look to wrap things up. Potentially swap out the otherside with some NPCs if feasible for the event/map. While you are hosting an event, you notice that the server starts to lag dramatically. What do you do? Undo whatever I just spawned. Look where in my builds/event I can scale back things. If nothing fixes, undo everything and replace crucial parts once stable. Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is greatly appreciated.
1. Rebel transport carrying supplies from a Black Mesa reclamation mission is in the area and needs to refuel. Combine will see the Heli flying in and if a missile strikes, the heli will crash and the event will take place at the crash site. If the heli gets to Rebel HQ, the combine will be given the opportunity for a Base Raid event in which they must rush the engi bay to seize the helicopter. Rebels must hold the Heli for ~15-20min to get the event rewards or combine must clear and hold the point for 5 minutes to get the rewards. Rewards would be 5 armor packs (250 armor for a life), grav guns and significant resources.
2. A long lost rebel CO has been captured by the combine and in a capture pod for months. Due to a recent transfer they are in the current area and the Rebels are starting a plan to rescue them. Event will take place on a large part of the map that isn't an objective with props to make it look like a combine encampment. In the cells of this encampment will be the pod with the rebel co. Combine will be debriefed to hold this area until transport can be brought in to fly out the pods. Rebels will have a debrief on the situation and move in on the area to attempt to capture the pod to rescue the CO. Rebels may grav gun the pod to take it back to base to rescue, while Combine must hold it at the encampment to progress the timer for pickup. Combine can take the pod back to the encampment once stolen, however the timer will only go while it is in the encampment.
3. A combine with a faulty behavioural implant has gone rampant in a location of the map, having increased HP, AR2 and attacking anyone. They will relentlessly hunt someone once they see them till they kill them. Killing this combine will net the killer an AR2 and increased armor for 1 life. (small map clutter event to add filler to an area of the map). Do you understand the basics of using ULX and how to build in gmod?
