Why do you want to be part of the staff team? Must be at least 3 sentences.
I want to help out the server, again. I'm making this application because I'm in vacation now, meaning that I'll have more time to spend on the server. I'd like to give back to it, once again, for all the time I've spent here since I first played, and although there's not a lot of rule-breaking right now (AFAIK), I would still like to be a part of the staff team and help people.
I've been a moderator in two other occasions (both were on DEFN, in 2021 and 2022).
Any staff who can vouch for you?
Venom said he would...
An MPF Union kills a Civilian but you don't know the reasoning behind the killing.
What do you do?
I would first ask the civilian about what was going on when he got killed, then talk to the union separately to avoid any arguments between them. If it was crossfire, and there's evidence of it, then it's just that, crossfire. In a different case, where the Civilian may have been picked out when walking around the map by the Union, most of the time it's just a matter of being more careful, since Civilians look a lot like Rebels, especially in the dark. Also, Unions are usually new players, so they just have to get more used to it. In that case, I would tell the union to be more careful with who they shoot, and tell them the main differences between a rebel and a civ.
Somebody had made a ticket saying they passed Sniper applications and that they need it’s whitelist, how would you proceed?
I would check the rebel discord's subdivision-change channel and see if he actually shows up. If he does, then give him the whitelist. If not, then I would tell the Sniper COs about the situation so they can take action.
An H.E.C.U. Soldier enters the Combine base to "RP defect".
How do you proceed as a staff member?
I would bring the HECU, then warn them for FailRP/Spawncamp as they cannot enter Combine borders and tell them that RP Defecting is not allowed, then inform the HECU COs about the situation.
A ticket alleging spawn-camp has been made, and the offending party is a member of cross who was found inside rebel spawn borders, what is the correct course of action?
The cross could be scouting the rebel base, so before bringing anyone I would check chat logs for the cross asking for perms/notifying their team to scout. If the cross is scouting, then I wouldn't bring anyone but I would tell whoever made the ticket that the cross was scouting and it's totally okay if the cross is in their borders if they're doing that.
If I can't find anything in chat logs about the cross asking for perms or telling their team they were going to scout, then I would bring them, then warn and notify their COs.
However, if the Cross was killing people within their borders, then I would warn them for RDM/Spawncamp and tell the Cross COs.
You find a SU/MACE CO infiltrating without notifying their team in chat. You bring them into a sit to talk to them about breaking the rules. In this sit the CO threatens to demote your RP character if you don't let them go.
How do you handle this?
I would start to record the entire interaction to ensure I gather enough evidence, then I would tell them that they cannot take OOC matters into IC. Warn them for FailRP and inform their SU/MACE higher ups about the situation and ask them to take action.
A Grid has created a ball that he has encased himself in and is propelling himself forward using the gravity gun, is this breaking any rules?
From what I can see in the rules, this doesn't follow the laws of physics, and also counts as player launching. So, yes.
A group of players comes onto the server and threatens to DDOS or raid it.
What do you think you should do?
I would try to record as much evidence as possible via screenshots and videos, send the evidence over staff chat, grab all of their SteamIDs and names, then ban them ASAP if I can, otherwise I'd mute and gag then wait for a higher ranking staff member.
You see a high ranking staff member doing something questionable, but you don't know if it is allowed.
What do you do?
Gather evidence by screenshotting/recording and send it to a higher ranking staff member. Not much I can do here other than that.
Out of nowhere a random set of numbers resembling an IP has been typed by an NCO has been typed into OOC, what is the correct course of action?
If it's obviously not a regular local ip (192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.57, stuff like that) then I would inmediately ban the NCO, warn them, screenshot all the messages and inform other staff in Discord and tell the unit's COs about it. Even if it's a joke, this could easily scare people and is unacceptable.
+1. Very few veterans of cvr are active as persistent. The fact that after years playing cvr wants to continue helping the community is smth to respect.
We don't think you will enforce the rules to our expectations, and given your on-and-off presence on the server, we do not believe you'll maintain your activity long-term.
