What is your reason(s) for applying for Gamemaster?

Because after playing on the server for over half a year now I’ve always been fascinated by the events hosted by gamemasters and have come up with a few ideas of my own. I like to contribute to the gamemaster cause by introducing my own ideas as well as helping other gamemasters with theirs. Also gamemaster accepting tickets seems slow most of the time and I would try and respond as fast as I can when playing to help with this. I also want to do it for the simple goal of helping players out on the server with daily troubles and keeping things interesting. Also unlike some other positions you can get on this server I like to work more behind the scenes and make everything go as smoothly as possible without having to be in the public eye constantly.

Have you ever been Event Staff or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions.
I organized events on my friends sandbox server a while back and have also been admin on darkrp servers too.

Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.

I take constructive criticism with an open mind because I am always looking to learn  and try new things. Also it is great to have others give me feedback about the things I currently do so I know if I’m doing it right or wrong. I don’t respond to harassment as much because it just fuels the fire but I’ll try to deal with it with the help of others because it can be resolved quicker.

While planning a server-wide Event you realized that it would make hosting it much easier if you had another Gamemaster assisting you, and manage to get someone to help. Unfortunately 5 minutes before the Event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?
I would first ask other gamemasters if they could instead and if none are available i would ask myself if I could handle the event by myself, if yes host the event anyways and the other gms can help out when they join.

While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?

Report to Sentinel and the other high gamemasters what happened then log it so no other gamemaster or staff accidentally repeats the crash.

An NCO has finished training a Recruit, but there are no COs or Staff online to provide the whitelist. What do you do?
Teleport to the NCO or Recruit and whitelist him (and log it)

While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?

Force an event inside the event area to either not allow this to happen or open the door if it already has happened. Also design future events to have fail safes if people decide to do anything else like this. For example you could have a second door opening only if the first one is shut and will remain shut. Also you could add a secondary objective if the door were shut such as sabotaging the computer or hacking into it from another place.

While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?

Ask them to stop considering that events should be participated in based on player opinions and not what others think. I’d also ask the person what they disliked about the event so I could figure out what was so bad about the event which made them try and prevent players from joining.

After hosting a server-wide Event, you are in the middle of a post-event Debrief when the COs present tell you to stop hosting your DB so they can host theirs. How do you react?

It depends on the type of event, for example after a map change event where you have to squeeze the db in you could inform the co that they can host a debrief after the map  change has occurred. Similarly with normal non map change events you can tell the co(s) that your debrief wouldn’t take too long and they will only be waiting for a short time.

What permissions do Gamemasters have, both inside and outside of Events?

Gamemasters have the ability to take crafting request and color vehicles that SU's/MACE's steal or classes craft/spawn. They also can host mini events such as a shop or fight arena. Inside events they can act as NPC's, Spawn event related items, Give equipment to event helpers, and act as event checkpoints (computers and such). And of course they can host events.

While preparing to host an Event, you notice that there are 3 vehicles deployed, and that the server is lagging a bit because of that. What do you do?

Ask the CO’s of both sides to deny any future vehicle deployment request (unless needed) and tell them to undeploy any vehicles on the map until the event is over. You could then later give the vehicles back or give them resources to compensate.

Describe your design process of Events prior to queuing them.

Before I queue an event I start where everything is at the drawing board. After coming up with an idea I ask some of my friends if the event sounds fun with some of the event basics, then I’ll start to plan some of the main event features.

Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is appreciated, and a lack of details will be penalized.

  1. My first event idea starts when a combine supply ship gets crippled above earth's atmosphere and a piece of the hull along with some experimental OSE units and a scientist in an escape pod fall onto the map. The combine scientist can be taken alive or killed for his clearance card. The scientist will have 500 HP and 250 AP with a PKM. If taken alive the scientist can open the special cargo without problem but if not players from either side will need to do a /roll to attempt to open. Once opened the OSE units will be inactive because they were still disabled and can be reprogrammed to help either side. Each side will have to install a program using a /me to hack the OSE’s to support their side, however if the opposing side gets to the OSE’s they can sabotage by pausing the opposing side's hack and installing their own. After one side has controlled their hack on the OSE’s for more than 8 minutes the OSE’s may be activated and 3 players on the victors side will receive a OSE player model, PKM, 1000 HP and 300 AP and may be named accordingly. The winners side will also receive 3000 resources in stolen cargo, and the losers side will lose 2000 resources for not receiving their cargo for the week resulting in missing essential supplies.
Also for this event there could be another way where each team has to hold in 3 minute intervals 3 times. Every 3 minutes one unit would become active and could help out the side that controlled for the time. Yes this means each team could have 1 unit if they take point while a OSE is still alive.
  2. For my next event a rogue combine mechanoid cluster falls from the sky being given wrong coordinates from the off world outpost. While falling, their friendly recognition module was damaged making it hostile to both factions. The cluster will activate and begin building fortifications around their “artifact” (the artifact will be a thumper model that will give the mech extra strength. After building or coming under fire 4-6 (depending on server pop) will be patrolling the area around their artifact and using the thermal swep will shoot anyone they see (combine and rebel). The patrolling mechs will all be equipped with a thermal swep, and 500 HP with 1000 AP. With max 6 mechs 2 will be equipped with defibs and a medkit and a honey badger. There will also be 2 scouts with their class constant of a medkit, (no defibs) a M110 DMR, and binoculars. If the scouts spot someone the whole hive will wake up and start defending. The other 2 classes are heavy and sniper. The sniper class will get a Dragonov will be given instead. Also for the sniper class the mortar swep could be used if server is almost full pop. For the heavy class they will get a shield, spaz-12, and a PKM. (this class will also get an extra 250 AP and 50 HP) Once the mechs are dead players on either side will have to approach the artifact and ask for a shutdown. Once requested players will have to /roll to start the countdown and after 3 minutes whatever side had the point when shutdown happened will have to self destruct the artifact using a /me after the shutdown happened and will be crowned the victor. The winning side will get to chose weapons within standard event rewards. (or take the mech guns)
  3. My final event is more laid back and is a casual event to be enjoyed by anyone regardless of class or side. GM's would host a mini jeopardy game with some CvR related questions as well as some mixed questions. There would be 5 main competitors with an audience who can cheer on the participants as well as “phoning a friend” or could be called to the stage to give a bonus question. After the event whoever won can pick 0-3 additional audience members that helped out to give a gun award to and the other top 3 participants on stage will get to choose a weapon for themselves or give it to someone else. I feel like this could be a fun little event in the chaos of the battlefield.

How often do you think GMs should host events?
I think events should  be held once a week because while we have new gameplay updates happening most players could still use some spicy events to keep things interesting and entertaining. Also the vanilla CvR gameplay is still very entertaining and we shouldn't bombard them with events taking up portions of the map.

I would like to request (If possible) that you slightly reformat your application to separate the white text from the white questions to both make it easier for other people to review and for me to later grade. All that is necessary would be simply hitting [Enter] at the end of each Question to place a blank line between said question and your answer.

-1 From me. Decent events and good answers to questions, but the turning point for me is you have a past history of abusing ULX. And I am not sure you can take it seriously.

Your answers are good and thorough, and your events are creative. You have done some fucky things with ULX before but I know you didn't have any malicious intent with it, I mean hey we've all had our mingy moments on the server at one point or another.

I see you around the server from time to time and you are truly a fun dude to play with. Although you have abused your ULX in the past, I believe you have changed and trust you will use this opportunity to prove that. I love the 2nd event you drew up and I'd like to see you host that one if you are to be accepted. One last thing I'd like to point out is that you should change your answers to a different color than the questions. Currently your application is an eyesore but the content is decent. Good luck!

neutral, bob and banana say that you have quite a history of you abusing ulx, though the event ideas are somewhat decent in my opinion

Neutral.

Previous behavior but a solid application leads me to a standstill. I don't really have a balanced opinion on this leaning anywhere.
