How would this benefit the server?
With the fewer points and how critical they are, strategical information about the flow of the battle has become much more important, especially for teamwork and leadership. Without it, it's harder for factions to predict and respond to each other's moves in a satisfying way.
I would +1 this but from what I heard it was removed for a reason of giving the capturing team the element of surprise, plus it's more logical that the enemy will push the other point if they can't cap the point the have been rushing for the past 20 minutes, so if you have good game sense you would pick up on that easily

-1 I miss it dearly but it was very obvious when a mace, su, sneak br or just a regular ol flank was about to happen if they accidentally tapped a point for a microsecond.
With how few points are it's not entirely impossible to simply just defend them all at the same time
