Why do you want to be a Gamemaster?

I want to create fun events for the server that make the player experience unique and fun. CvR can be fun as an run and gun game with strategy but people hit walls with how often they can do the sameish thing over and over again. Adding random events to the fight is something that makes each map and fight feel different, unique and memorable. I want to help add more of these events to the playing field and make the server better.

Have you ever been Event Staff/Gamemaster or something similar before? If so, list your previous positions and describe something notable you did in those positions.

Mod for 6ish months in like 2019

Describe how you react to negative feedback, from constructive criticism to borderline harassment.

With constructive criticism it is very important to hear. We can be blind to mistakes we make or sometimes it is important to have someone who is above you in experiance to give you advice and their own take on it. If someone is just yelling at you telling you what you did wrong it is important to stay calm and collected and not have it down grade to a shouting match. You must also pay attention to what they are shouting about and why they are angry with it.

While planning a server-wide event, you had another Gamemaster assisting you. Unfortunately, 5 minutes before the event is scheduled to begin, they messaged you and said they would be absent. How do you proceed?

I would try and find another GM to assist me with the event but if I can not find anyone I would go ahead with the event unless it was a super important event like a story campaign. When doing an important event though I would make sure I have more then just 2 GM's just in case something like that would arise.

While planning an Event, you decide to test some of the tools you think would be helpful. You go to the admin room, and start to experiment. Unfortunately, while testing with some NPCs the server crashed. How do you react?

I would notify the proper staff members of what happened and why it happened and would try my best to set the map up to how it was orginally. Also if there is a dev server and I was experimenting I would do it on that server instead.

While hosting a server-wide Event you have implemented a RP section where players can interact with a computer in order to open a door. Unexpectedly, a CO decides that they would rather that door stay closed (Presumably so that the other side cannot continue), and orders that the computer be destroyed. Given that the door is essential to progressing your event, how do you react?

I would either make it so the door can be destroyed if given enough fire power for example I would give the combine a super mega door cannon ( with a fancier name of course) or I would just make it so when they destroy the computer a protocol goes in effect so that the door opens automatically. (star wars ah logic)

While hosting a server-wide Event, a CmD/MAJ decides that they dislike it, and begin to openly attempt to get players to refuse to participate. This reaches the point that there are almost no players participating on one side. How do you resolve the situation?

While not all events are going to be a knockout of the park, it is very unprofessional for a CmD/MAJ to openly rebel against an event. I would definitely bring that person aside and explain to them that the event brings in players and people can have fun with it no matter what and that saying you aren't going to do an event out in the open is very damaging to the reputation of the staff and makes players never want to do an event again. Monkey see monkey do. Hopefully they would understand and would continue with the event.

While you are hosting an event, you notice that the server starts to lag dramatically. What do you do?

It would most likely be an npc or rag doll issue so I would clear rag dolls or remove NPC's or anything that is constantly colliding with something creating lag.

Create three Event ideas and describe them below. Be as detailed as you feel necessary. Originality is greatly appreciated.

1. Bigger Event: Rebel forces are researching a way to increase their firepower with vortigaunt beams. Scientist Youvon Sweez is moments away from creating Super weapons but he only has 1 lab so destruction of the lab would cancel the entire research effort. Combine forces must storm the heavily fortified compound and destroy the technology as it would give rebel forces superior firepower. The rebel compound would be fortified with artillery, turrets, vehicles, and dozens of NPC's. Combine will have headcrab pods and vehicles available to them.

2. Smaller Against Rebel Event: Head crab pods have been launched behind rebel lines and are threating to turn rebel forces into rebies (rebel zombies). If any rebels are killed by them then a zombie will be spawned in. This event would be if rebels are absolutly destroying the combine. Is small but is fun and will give them combine a chance.

3. Smaller Against Combine Event: A small group of elite fighters has been called in to change the tide of the battle. These super soilders in HEV suits will be given advanced weapons and hp and will be airdropped behind enemy lines.

Do you understand the basics of using ULX and how to build in gmod?

Yes but some help on stuff specifically built for the server would be appreciated

FINAL REMARKS:
I find that adding small variables to the gameplay is better then having 1 huge events each day and also makes it so people burn out less often. So although I am for huge events I think that adding small things to the fight adds a lot more depth into the gameplay.
