As of right now CvR is in a rut, we have low player activity and no dev support in a bit, this post is more of an opinion piece since at the current state of things I can't rely on what I say to change things. What I want everyone to know is that I'm not giving up on CvR, I'll be here until I can't join the server anymore(hopefully it does not shut down) and I want other people to know that the doomer mentality surrounding CvR is only reality if you make it that way.
Yes CvR has low activity, yes issues are piling up, however, this doesn't mean we should all give up. I want to remain optimistic because if we keep feeding into doomerism then why try at all. If you have CKed you should really think about what you say about a server you left(and many helping contribute to the issues we are facing now). I don't blame anyone for CKing or leaving, we all have real life to deal with that is more important than GMOD, but if you have left then what you say about CvR and its state of things is at the least hypocritical. Overall we can't stop people from leaving, what we can do is stop listening to trolls who left and still lurk around in discord talking shit about a server they decided to abandon. Not that CKing makes people bad, rather its the people who keep complaining even after they left. Only saying this cause of the yap I've been seeing in discord.
This part is for you Sentinal: Where are you chief???? I get it "Learn the difference between fatigue and fulfillment" was a subtle way of letting people know you're tired, but at this point just make an announcement, it can be about anything, I would like it if it was you saying you'll be back after a much-needed break, that come summer dev support will be there and COs just need to hold on a little longer. If this isn't the case then tell us, the slow trickle of players leaving will continue if you never say anything and it won't matter if they all leave at once because you say you're done since we already are facing extinction. It would be nice for you to address the community about your plans, roadmap, or even closing remarks(I hope not). I'm not saying we deserve it, what I am saying is that dev support at some level is needed for the server to survive. If you need a break that's ok, let us COs know and we can plan for it so the server is ready when you return. A while ago when you did 1 on 1 CO interviews, you asked me many questions about my ability to be active and to be a good CO, now I turn to you and ask the same, can you do what you expect of COs to do? This could've been something I asked you in DMs but at this point the whole server would like to know what's up. LOAs exist and you can take one too.
This part is for everyone: From Enlisted to NCOs, COs, Leadership, CWU, Civis, Anarchists, everyone, always know what you have done, and continue to do on the server to keep CvR entertaining and alive has been more than enough. For a while, we have been sitting on this idea that player/CO activity needs to be reworked and improved to make server activity better, however after months of great CO work from what we have left, it is very obvious that we cannot improve any further without dev support. If you have been active in the past while your efforts are appreciated by everyone, while this may not seem like much it means a lot to me and I hope it does to you too. I hope to see all of your continued efforts going forward!
CvR is a fun place I like to game and socialize, if you are still interested in the server we have moved to weekend-focused activity/events for now, I will be hosting a MD this weekend and I hope you'll join! This post was more or less made for Sentinal, since we haven't heard much from you in a while, I wanted to finally poke the bear and see whats going on. I don't think this is the end, I don't want it to be, but right now we need to hear something from you Sentinal if things are gonna start to look up again. COs and Leadership are ready to help you, you just need to ask.
This doesn't have to be the end of CvR, I hope it's not.

Unfortunately GMOD as a whole is dying since our generation when we were youth is the last to pickup GMOD. Kids these days play Fortnite, COD and other mainstream titles. Youtube no longer shows GMOD videos or youtubers connected due to internet culture. I was 14 when I played CVR for the first time and now I'm 21. I doubt in the near future that a 14-15 year old is going to buy GMOD and have the small chance of clicking on ''DEFN CVR''. We must realise that Work, Social life, Education, family and relationships come at a later age. We can't rely on Sentinel to fix this problem since it's out of anyone's control. Sentinel has owned and produced a fantastic experience for a lot of people and we can't moan at him for taking a break.
Anyway I'm not hating on trying to revive the server for some last Hurrah's but let's be realistic and admit that time has passed and us old heads are running on pure nostalgia of the golden times of 2018-2022.
P.S. Please bring back racism in OOC and IC chat and vc

Sounds like you guys could do with some "Hackers" like me, "hackers", I mean someone who has gone to the toilet, and uses +right to void getting kicked from the server. Thats worthy of my perma ban.. Sounds like this was deserved to some degree, I missed playing on your server.
