As others have said, the one single glaring flaw with the idea is that a place to look for scheduled tryouts already exists; #tryout-announcements. Other than that, the suggestion is written to indicate that it'd be a "if it's there" system, only displaying the things that are actually listed and resetting each server restart. I think that a system like this, while it would be helpful, is ultimately unnecessary due to players needing to join at least a divisional discord if they passed the tryouts.

Some other comments;
-A LOT of COs get really pissy about being asked even just whether or not their class DOES private tryouts in the first place, which is extremely counterintuitive towards getting any new players AND gives new players a rather poor first impression.
-Any comments about people not joining a Discord being "valid" are really not, simply because they'd have to join the class's discord anyways if they pass whatever tryouts.
-Any argument about how COs (or "people") would be irresponsible with it is kinda pointless. COs should know better and any who don't probably shouldn't be COs.
-The original post wasn't even about private tryouts or how a /tryouts command would be applicable to them. Maybe add "how private tryouts work" to the introductory document stuff for Combine/Rebels?
