[]What's your reason for becoming Gamemaster? I want people to actually have fun and have something to participate in other than combat, that sometimes, obviously, can be frustrating. I can relate to this. Getting killed over and over again by some broken thing is not fun. The reason I am applying for Gamemaster is that I want people to have fun in other situations other than combat. For example, more RP related stuff. There isn't enough in my opinion. Also, no offense, but a lot of the times Gamemasters are usually dead when people want a car, and I am super active and will provide people with a better experience on the server to the best of my ability.
[]Have you ever been Event Staff or anything similar on other servers?[] If so please list below. I am currently a Moderator on CVR.
[]Explain how you take criticism from other people, from constructive to border-line harassment. Well, I would first see their side of the story and why they are criticizing me. If it is constructive criticism I would obviously listen to him, so I can better my events and the way people view them. If it is borderline harassment, first, whoever is harassing me is making a fool out of himself, if it extended to something worse I would call staff. If not, I would just ignore him/her.
[]A Combine CmD has openly expressed their distaste for an event you're doing at that moment. It has gotten to the point where he is actively disrupting your event. What is your course of action? First, if he is just straight up dissing my event, like not in a constructive way, I would ask staff to mute him. If he is actively trying to disrupt my event I would either call staff, or just try and ignore him from there. I would expect better behavior from a Combine CmD.
[]A Resistance Fighter starts PMing you with some questions about a recent event you've done. However, because you were AFK, he has started harassing you. What is your course of action? I would just simply tell him my bad for being AFK, and listen to what he has to say. If he just keeps harassing, I would ignore him.
[]What are GM's permissions both inside and outside of events? Inside events, GM's can do anything to better their event, aslong as it follows the rules, and doesn't lag the server to shit. Outside of events, GM's can spawn cars for people, or help with staff stuff I guess.
[]You are hosting an important Post-Event DB and all of a sudden, the CO's ask you to leave so they can do their DB and exclude yours. What is your course of action? Since at this point I already got the green light for my event, I would simply tell them that after my important debrief they can host their own with promotions, etc.
[]A Gamemaster who said he would be assisting you in an event later on today hasn't shown up and now the event is running behind schedule. What should you do? If it is a huge event that I need help with, I could ask someone else to help me. If I can't get anyone else to help me, I would postpone the event for a later date. If it is on the smaller side of events I would try to the best of my ability to do it myself.
[]After getting a green light on an event, you notice there are 3 vehicles deployed at once. It is causing a little lag, what is your course of action? I would just simply wait for them to undeploy due to the map, or the vehicles be destroyed. If the vehicles are out for a while, I might ask for them to undeploy, but this is unlikely.
[]What's the process GM's take before making events, from start to finish.[] (This is what YOU think) 1. Figure out what you want the event to be about. 2. Ask for help hosting the event, if needed. 3. I have heard that you need to post it to a queue and get approval, so, do that next. 4. Secure a spot in the server and ask people if they would like to participate. 5. Host the event, hope it goes well. 6. After this, try and get opinions from people on how I can better the event.
[]A Resistance Captain is openly criticizing your event when he isn't in the event itself. It has gotten to the point where he is interrupting your important adverts relating to the event. What should you do? If he wasn't in the event, this is just pure immaturity from the Captain. I would mute him myself or ask staff to mute him.
[]How often do you think GM's should host events? 2-3 a week, but I feel like once a week could be fine so you don't get burnt out.
[]List three events that you might do if you get accepted (DETAILED AND BE ORIGINAL)[] [Campaigns and RP Situations are EXCLUDED] Ok so, hear me out. My first events will be very basic, but I guarantee I can host better ones overtime as I get used to it.
1. The Takeover
So, the map has been takeover by zombies (yeah very original im sorry) I would ask about 10-15 people to be a zombie. The remaining people what want to participate (this all relies on the amount of people who want to) would be the Survivors. They will have a set play-area and they cannot go out of bounds. I would give the Survivors a decent but not overpowered weapon. (This could change depending on the Health of the zombies.) I would give the Zombies, zombie pills obviously. Zombies can also respawn. The survivors would need to go turn on Generators by solving a riddle that I will give them. It will be a simple riddle. There would be 6 generators spread out, less or more depending on the player count. If the Survivors die, they cannot respawn since it would be very easy to turn on the generators. They would also have a limited amount of ammo. They can also only turn on one generator at a time, obviously, because I would be at that one generator. Whoever wins, will get rewards.
Backstory:
Point D has been takeover by the horde. Your mission is to infiltrate the point, clear the point of zombies, but be aware, they have multiple lives. You need to turn on generators by solving riddles given to you. You can only turn on one generator at a time or risk a catastrophic failure. (tried my best, not very creative)
2. So, this event, is pretty basic. But I have never seen it in action.
It will be a simple Basketball Event. I will give everyone participating gravity guns, and use a prop hoverball/a ball so they can actually shoot it/dunk it. If they are interesting in joining as a team, I would set up a google form so they can create a Team Name, or just do this ingame if they have everyone ready. I would also give everyone godmode so they can't just shoot the hoverball at eachother and kill eachother. Lastly, I would setup a basketball court and hoops, and possibly walls so the ball doesn't go to narnia, lol. I feel like this would be very fun as I have heard/seen my brother screaming when he participated in one with Mace. If we have more than two teams, there will be a tournament/king of the court, winners get rewards.
3. The Package
Rebels/Combine will start out with a truck, and some packages/boxes in the back. These boxes contain some big explosives. The extraction team will be in charge of bringing the explosives to a certain point on the map. They will then, have to make it their safely, and if they do, they have to hold it down for 5 minutes to be able to launch the rockets and kill a lot of the Combine. The Combine will have vehicles as well, to stop them from getting to the point. Rebels/Combine can send out scouts to try and figure out what the Combine are doing, and where they are going.
Backstory:
You have been equipped with highly fatal bombs. Your job is to bring those bombs to Point D and hold off the Combine for at least 5 minutes to be able to launch those bombs, and kill of the Combine. Be careful. The bombs will be in the back of your truck and you will extract those. The Combine have no idea what you are doing, other than you are up to something and their job is to stop you from wiping them off the face of the Earth. You are able to build teleporters (or squad leaders, but thats ooc) so you can respawn and keep defending. So can the Combine. Do. Not. Fail.
Another event that I have in mind is like a sumo event, but with cars. I could take them to a high place, place down a floor, and spawn them cars. Last one on the platform gets a reward.
Maybe a parkour aswell? Not seen it executed too many times, but I don't know how people would like it.
I was also thinking about a racing event. I have lots of ideas lol. I havent seen it in action either.
I was thinking about maybe a faction event.
So, I will make 10-15 or less people their own faction. We will have a certain name, and we will attack combine and the rebels. I was thinking maybe I could give them all seperate things to represent different classes. But, if I get accepted I could think more about this. Just a thought though.
One more thing, maybe a Russian Roulette type event? Never seen it in action before either.
If you do not like these events, please tell me why, I tried to brainstorm my best ideas, and they are original but if I ever get to the point where I can host them, I will put more thought into them, thanks.
