the only problem with A2A combat is the hit boxes on the aircraft are wonky, I swear the dropship and gunship my bullets just go through

Also MP HVY is pretty much an AA-Gun with the extended mag attachment. Holy shit it's ridicilous.

This is coming from an OVA OFC and an MP HVY. Damn is it fun shooting your own subdivison's shit. -1

This map does have its ups and downs, but it's a tough pill to swallow.

I might just be bad but every single tech that knows a bit on how to fly can fuck up the gunship

Also I'd take the hoplite over gunship anyday.

I watched 2 choppers fail to kill even 1 of the 3 gunships that were in the sky, whilst the gunships were out on their own and destroying the choppers

Not to mention i'm a decent pilot myself, one of the best in another server that uses the same aircrafts. But even i would struggle to hit a gunship that has better control and shooting than the heli does, so those techs you mention that can destroy gunships so easily must be on crack

I'm cracked

But basically as much as a meme as the saying "skill issue" is, it applys completely to vehicles, they are the hardest to master in terms of understanding how the server works with the helicopter, delay and capabilities and WHO you are flying against, im going to give you a basic run down on how I plan out and engage enemy helicopters.

So you see them pop up on the radar, first thing you do is climb above the enemy, put your crosshair on target and pull the trigger even if you cant see them, when the enemy sees you and reacts to you already took the first shot and he's below you and you are still above them, you gotta keep that advantage and find a firing solution since techs guns are fixed so it's a lot easier to lose altitude in gun runs and dog fighting, if he gets above you then you gotta get under him and make him bleed his altitude because he's going to want to point his heli at you to shoot you even if his gun is on a gimbal, force him to make the mistake that gets him below you and finish the fight as if nothing even happened.

Also infantry guns do A LOT of damage on air vehicles if they focus fire on you.

I swear slade did 3k damage in like 15 seconds when I was watching YouTube in base

Guns do a MASSIVE amount of damage, people don't have the brain to shoot a large target flying over them

Feel like there's no point when there are already so many counters to vehicles. Pretty sure all of the air vehicles, even the KA29, do pretty good damage against air vehicles as well. I think its mostly a skill issue with some newer people fighting more experienced people

-1 hvy's activity combined with a coordinated effort of people shooting helis can take it down easy enough

couple pointers about helicopter fighting.

Air vs Air it's mainly a matter of two basic points;
-Knowing that Up = Win
-Not crashing into things.

Ground vs Air the hitboxes of helicopers are very offset from their model when flying on an inclined sideways angle, making them difficult to properly engage using bullets. Heavy classes still kick ass when they know how to use the RPG, and that isn't to discount how insanely strong guns are against vehicles when they actually do damage. There's a reason why most APC deployments last a maximum of 10 minutes.

-1. I think you are heavily rebel team biased, and that's okay to an extent but not here. Also you are playing as a CQC specialist class, so you really cant do anything about helicopters because your loadout is based on CQC/Tanking. I think that's why you think ground-air combat is a hellhole because for you it is. But for others it isn't. Not a matter of skill issue but class issue. Play a class with a LMG or even standard HVY and you will see how easy it is to force gunships to RTB for repairs within a minute or so of deploying. Also mass coordinated small arms fire does the trick just right, but that's a common sense issue on rebel side lmao.
