What is your suggestion?
A: Make a hard cut-off of the strider's laser beam (like combine HC machine gun has)

How would this benefit the server?
A: It will make the strider less overpowered and more fun to play against, because then you won't get sniper by a point-and-click adventure gun across the entire map and explode into pieces. I'm not trying to suggest some radical shit, I'm just trying to suggest how to make do of what already is in the game

both the HC and Dropship have unlimited range on their guns, so doing that to the strider would be "unfair" to it. As well as that, I think what'd work better is having the gun be a burst much like the HL2 strider, instead of handicapping its range which would render it vulnerable to long-distance RPG fire on maps like Outlands or Stalker.

Also, I would think that one of the reasons Heavies are getting destroyed is because of their movement, that being they're slower than the rest. It'd help more to have maneuverability as opposed to outright tankiness, but that's just me.

Striders in general need a nerf, or at the very least a hard counter. I aint got time to write a 500 word essay but some kind of nerf or counter for rebs.
