With how it is currently Rollermines may explode at any time unless an active "/me hacks rollermine" or any anything similar is done by an engineer in which both parties have to roll. If the rollermine wins he explodes, if the engi wins he can choose to become the rollermine or have the rollermine switch teams.
Rollermines are also not allowed to explode if they are inside if the enemy base (via any rebel with a grav gun bringing them/launching them in there)

Rest of the People don't give a shit about rollermines inflicting damage when grabbing them, it's either gonna be grid/engi or scav/kilo. Res wb pvt cumsock doesn't give a shit about rollermines
Rollermines are really easy to kill relative to their difficulty to effectively use, if you're dumb enough to walk forward while holding the rollermine and let the rollermine kill you, you kinda deserve to die from it (yes i've done it, no I don't care).
Separately, the explosion doesn't really do enough damage to warrant a "no-detonation" rule outside of what's already there. As annoying as it is, taking that damage is about the same you'd probably take from killing an enemy if they shoot you at all, and rollermines need to be in melee to be effective.
I dont see what's so hard about running backwards. The main goal of a captured rollermine is to escape, so you running foward is helping them in that aspect.

Rules are limited to certain locations very evidently.
